i used to always want to ctb via firearm but the one thing that always scared me was the slim possibility of surviving and being handicapped or disfigured...

after doing some research im most likely going to ctb via SN. mainly just because if i happen to survive the long term effects are much less extreme than those of a firearm.

But LetzeAusfahrt's experiments with nitrogen hypoxia and a mask make it clear that this method is sudden, painless and peaceful after being tested thoroughly and practiced properly. (That's another clincher for nitrogen hypoxia for me, the fact you can test it out before with a mask held loosely to the face before finally strapping it on securely.)

If I was worried about causing a mess or failure I'd do it on top of a bridge in the middle of the night, with weights strapped to myself. Gunshot, impact, drowning. Could even add some SN too.

SN. A gun is loud and a mess to clean up. Not a pretty corpse. SN, while not as quick, wouldn't wake up my family or neighbors, is less violent and won't less a mess. If I failed with a shotgun I could be permanently disabled and disfigured. Failed SN seems to have no permanent side effects

Using the SN requires a lot of instructions and needs to be executed with precision while the shotgun has a lower chance of survival even if you make a mistake in the procedure.

I would choose gun. I like the sound of a instant and quicker death that I can't go reverse whose I pull the trigger as I fear in the SN method I might try to back out cus of the discomfort cus of my low tolerance to feeling like that. Also shotgun has a higher success rate which is another reason for me to prefer that.

100% shotgun in a secluded forest where I can't get saved if I miss the brain stem. SN is for me an undesirable compromise for not being able to get one in my country.

100% shotgun. Instantenous, painless. With handgun its easy to botch but shotgun should blast the whole head off.
The only downside is the gruesome view after death (headless body, lots of blood on the floor and walls.). Instant trauma for whoever finds you, and huge cost of cleaning the place.

So if you care about how the scene will look go for SN. If you dont, blast your brains out.
