Idk if it will sounds dumb but i dont have anybody to talk about my mental health, so i will just dump all here

I dont wanna talk about my suicidal thoughts or depression because this suposed to be a happy thread but anyways
So in short, i was deep thinking yesterday and i realized i want to give life one more chance. I dropped out of college to start a business with some good and experienced friends, i started to hit the gym and read some books and study more about business stuff, and im not doomscrolling in my free time.

So with all the things getting better, i decided to "lifesmaxing" if this term exist, anyway, i will stop smoking, drinking and taking drugs, i will hit the gym every single day, and work even hard to make that shit big, i will start to study and read more, and stop wasting all my free time doomscrolling.

But is easier to say than done, i know it will be hard, but i will do that shit and come back every month to give some news about it

The idea mainly came after i read a book called "outwinning the devil" from Napoleon Hill. The book talks about a interview with a man and the devil, but "the devil" its just simply a metaphor for the negative aspects of the world and one's thoughts. In short, i realized i had a good life back then, with a good job, friends, career, body and etc. And lost it all just because my shit mental state. But my soul and body is the same, theres nothing stopping me to get better in life, just "the devil", i can do whatever i want, i just need to do what it is needed to do, and not only what i want.

Sorry for my bad english, i am brazilian.

Thats it, i will come back exactly 1 one month with some news from my journey to became a better person, i hope at least 1 person read ts.

Just a technical note - i think this post should be in recovery section. Not that i mind, just it would be easier to find by those in similar situation.

As for the rest - i wish you all the strength, peace and ease of mind you can possibly get to help you achieve your goals.
Hope the life course you chose will take you where you want to be.

p.s - nothing wrong with your english. At least not for another non-native ;-)

I wish you all the very best. I think it's absolutely worth trying to enjoy life again- if the motivation is there.

I had a similar realisation reading Eckharte Tolle's 'The Power of Now' that- seeing as we can observe our own emotions- maybe we do all have a central core that is more calm and neutral. I suppose that's what meditation is about- accessing that calmness.

I definitely think that our mood states and especially things like depression can kind of hyjack us into unhealthy lifestyles- which end up making us feel worse. To a tiny extent, I am also trying to fight that. For me though- it's simply to function better- while I still need to. I don't have the same good experiences in my past or hopes for my future you do.

They're so important though, and I hope you find your way back to them. I do agree with the above member- that it may be better to post in the 'Recovery' section in future. You are probably more likely to get the thread seen and responded to there. And I imagine/ hope more members that side of things actively support one another in their life goals. We're more focussed on death goals in this section! All the very best of luck to you. 🤞🤞
