Discussion Does knowing there are other people like you make you feel better or worse?

I'm honestly just very curious about the rest of your experiences with this. Has this place helped you feel more at peace with your thoughts, or more insecure about if you have any good reason to feel this way?

For me, I really like knowing people can understand me. I've been isolated most of my life, and kind of connection like that is always appreciated. There are some caveats to this though. I mostly only like it in this kind of setting because we are all anonymous and online so someone knowing you on a deeper level doesn't really have the consequences it does with a irl.

it's only natural to crave some from of understanding or acknowledgment from others, no one wants to feel alone after all. given how difficult it is to discuss the topic of this forum elsewhere, it's no surprise lots of people(myself included) find some comfort here.

It makes me feel better about the depression and anxiety.

There are so few that hallucinate like I do and most of them are really dysfunctional. I fight hard to be only partially dysfunctional. However someone I slip over the edge and can't do anything.

'Misery loves company'. Not that I delight in knowing other people are suffering but- it would feel terribly lonely to be without them. Because I don't tend to mix much with 'normie' optimists.

Actually thinking theres other people like me makes me feel less alone sadly tho idk anyone like me or in a similar situation if i did id like to give em a since idk anyone in my situation it feels lonely and even scarier at times.

For me it's of both. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in my feelings, but it's also incredibly sad to see so many people in such pain.

I don't know . I feel kind of sad when i visited this forum.

Even though i myself is suicidal, i can't bear to see so many of them suffering in this world.

I pray to the higher being that he could have mercy on all of us poor suffering being, to relief us of the pain, agony, and suffering .
