"You're too smart for your own good"

Heh, that's something I have heard one too many times from too many people. From professionals, to my family. I apparently think too hard into things, like this whole life thing, and somehow those who are less intelligent have better perspective on life and death. The irony of all of this is truly comedic to me, I have even debated them about it, and have won every single time. They are shocked at how well my rhetoric holds up, they are usually at a loss for words when I bring up basic points of suicide, and death.

Its insane how those who are smart are more likely to "suffer from" depression, and is told to us by those who cannot understand us. However I cannot understand a psychopath, and I do not pretend I can comprehend them. Yet those who are less intelligent can somehow comprehend someone smarter with depression. I am tired of them trying to reason with me, just provide me with a fallacy in my argument, and then we can talk about why living is "worth it".

It's also the same with the 'deep thinkers' (or feelers) type of people. Society (& most people generally/normally) just don't value these type of things. So unfortunately, they can't, don't, & even won't understand us. And yes, 'normal' people (ie: "normies") are usually much more happier with their simple, everyday, ordinary lives. "Ignorance is bliss": there's a reason why this quote is popular, because it's true unfortunately.

Often people who kill themselves are described by their loved ones as exceptionally kind, empathetic, funny and intelligent. "Too good for this world". The way that makes me feel is very strange. Why can't the world be a place where it's good to live?

I don't think stupidity leads to happiness, but people who have a certain type of intelligence which enables them to further their self-interest, combined with a lack of a general curiosity about the world and the ability to take things at face value and enjoy the things they're supposed to enjoy, seem to be the happiest and most able to thrive in this world.

It seems like you need a specific set of traits to thrive, and if you don't, you will have a hard time. It's all based on genetic predisposition, if you don't win the lottery, you're fucked.

Timing is important as well.
