Hi everyone once again!

So I have question about preparations before I go. I have no intentions to CTB at this time, just curious.

The point is this: I have a bunch of tech stuff and some devices: collection of IEMs, e-ink reader, steam deck, game controller etc etc. Should I keep it or rather sell it/give it to someone? I think that would be suspicious, but I am not sure if I should keep all of this.

Maybe I could point that out on my note? What do you think? And what about you?

I think it is a red flag when someone starts getting rid/ giving away their posessions. If you have people you can trust, I think either a list of wishes- who gets what or, a will is safer.

I doubt I have much that people would want. I've asked my Solicitor to arrange for a house clearance company to come in when I go. The place is such an embarassing mess. I'd prefer someone to at least be paid to sort it out! What they can sell will then pay for their services and any extra will be added to the 'estate' which then gets split among family and friends.

I sold my most valuable things little by little, so no one noticed. At most, they commented, but nothing major. But I don't recommend selling everything, because that would draw too much attention from everyone.

I'd not give away or sell valuable things before I ctb bc in the case of a failure or if I backed out I'd need them again.
If you want to give valuable things to certain persons you could as well write a last will.

This right here. If you change your mind or fail, you will regret that you gave your stuff away.

For me personaly, i would keep my stuff and just sort out the trash so no one else has to deal with it.

If you give things to someone, and that person cares about you, and then you kill yourself, they will spend the rest of their life replaying the memory of you handing them that steam deck. Why not just mention who gets what in the suicide note?
Also other users are right about the potential for failure/backing out

You said something very accurate. The person who receives it really feels a weight

Ive already given a lot of things of mine away to friends and relatives. Books (150-200) to a friend all at once. Many pieces of tech equipment to same friend and to relatives. Stuff that has to be worth $5-7k all together.
No one has said anything to me about it. I was surprised to be honest. My friend did joke about my intentions, but I laughed it off.
I forgot what excuse I told them......probably that I dont have the space for all this stuff.

I have more items that I want to go to specific people.
I plan on having a list of what goes to whom.

And part of me wants them to remember me when I gave them these things. Not to hurt them, but to remember me.

I dont want to hurt my family.....but this will hurt them forever. Im sorry....to the ones that I love.
But I just cant keep doing this. Its over and I know it. My family is elderly now.....I dont want to be left here alone, the last one in my family.....I can't do it.
Its either they have to be hurt or I have to live with the torment of losing them....which I would end it anyway.

Leave a will with details. If you have someone reliable enough to execute it after then name them on your note.

i've been slowly giving my things to my a family member since they're the only one that has any interest in my dumb collections. i plan to give them the rest if i leave a note since i don't think anyone else would care. it could also be worth money one day too, i dunno. but i agree with others, you shouldn't do it all at once and maybe leave some things for a note/will. it's always good to have back-up options no matter how sure you are.
