Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

The medical workers in my country are very rude and inconsiderate towards people who SH, I'll share the last experience but keep in mind this has happened multiple times with many different facilities. Around 2 weeks ago I went to the ER to get my cut stitched, I have very prominent scars all over my forearms so it was pretty clear what happened here. The first nurse that met me yelled at me "what did you do to yourself" and the other nurse insisted on trying to know what happened so I bluffed some story that I was very uncomfortable saying out loud. They knew I was lying. They kept acting like they were disappointed in me , sighing and looking upset with me. When the doctor came to do the stitching he asked is that really what happened. At that point I was pretty fed up because this has happened multiple times before so I said "you see my arm you know what happened ". I don't see why they have to make a big deal out of it , they work in the ER they see worse stuff every hour. It's like they get a kick out of humiliating people who do it and making them uncomfortable. I don't get the point of being intrusive when you can't do anything to help and do nothing but judge. Ive had similar experiences where a doctor asked if I did drugs, was a school dropout and of course the religious preaching

As a medical worker, this is unacceptable. Medical workers should never question you on things like this, especially if you've already expressed your discomfort. I'd go to another hospital, but it is important to realise that in many countries doctors and nurses will irresponsibly overapply their 'duty of care', causing you stress that you do not deserve. Especially if you are a minor, there isn't much you can do about this unfortunately. Self harm is just another coping method, and I hope that you can find alternatives. However, you should never be forced to do anything regarding your own body by others.

This has happened in the fanciest hospitals to the worst clinics, it's a common thing. This has been happening since the first time I went to get stitches at 15-16, I am 21 now.
