I just wanted to give my thanks to SaSu as its seen as such a controversial place to outsiders.
I came here wanting to end things and ran into so many amazing people. Others who are in the same boat who I can talk to without the panic OMG call creepy samaritans or check into a hospital. People who are not going though any of this dont understand that theres just no good resources or ways to speak openly about our feelings without that. Theres no magic pill and CBT doesnt help in fact it makes people who have trauma way worse as i found out from here im not the only one. Its been such a help to me talking to others here about how CTB effects others in your life how to get real help, what helps for them.
Sure on the other hand there are posts about people wanting to CBT and how to go about it. But reading a blog on the side effects and how it all works doenst mean you can instantly CTB. Theres actually lots of effort in setting up a method ordering parts or working out how to get SN as no one here will tell you that. Theres plenty of safety advice about if you do manage to get SN DO NOT do trial runs and to keep it out of reach if you are impulsive. No one here pushes me to CTB even if i would like them to :(
Im not ready to leave sasu and i personally see CTB as a safety net for me to fall back on so i can continue to fight knowing i have a way out to protect me from a future i dont want. People will never care to understand our pain they will continue to force others to suffer they will continue to lock people up for bad mental health. I hate how the police storm in theatening to give you more trauam/charges when whats needed is a motherly hug a hey you ok, do you need to report something, do you need some mental health therapy. Therapy and rehab should always be first before destroying peoples futures... They will only ever see the person splattered on the ground and not the burning building(life) they jummped from.
I hope one day things change.
