I hate when people say this shit

"There's people who care about you"

Ok?

That doesn't change how I feel

"It'll get better"

After years it's been proven that it fucking won't it gets worse and I'm not gonna dissapoint myself by continously hoping for good feelings that'll never come

Not only does this not change anything, But why the fuck would I be comforted by knowing so many people have such fucked up lives they all wanna die

For me the sentence "It will get better" pisses me off so much... Because of how untrue it is. With age, life can only get worse not better (in 90% of the cases)

There's people who care about you - sadly this is true for me. I wish nobody cared about me so that I could ctb without hurting anyone. The only reason why i drag this life out and delaying my ctb are my parents. If they weren't alive (dying of old age) I would have ctb years ago.

And yes "it will get better" pisses me off too. They don't know?! And in my experience it's like a reverse world stock market: It sometimes gets better for some time but over a long time it only goes down…

- Only a few people really care about you, the majority of them doesn't give a fuck about your existence;

- It doesn't necessarily get better, life is full of setbacks at any time;

"There's people who care about you" - Maybe, and we care about people too. But nobody can understand how it feels to be where we are, unless they've been where we are. I agree with @Hotsackage, we care because we get it.

"It'll get better" - Right, nobody knows, and it's almost an insult when in reality things keep on getting worse and they want us to believe it can get better? It's like we live in a different world and people in the other world cannot comprehend what's happening in ours.

"You're not alone" - This one I use too, on here, when I feel I can relate. But it's true what you say, it confirms we are not the only ones with f*cked up lives. It also reminds me that there are people worse off than me, that I am not special, and that in the end, it all comes to nothing anyways.

That is very true. Such sentences usually invalidate someone's feelings. I get that they are trying to be helpful and make you feel less alone/seen but they do quite the opposite.
"It will get better" is for example not only invalidating someone's current state because especially depressed people are very prone to that feeling of hopelessness and even if it is true in some cases, it is hard to see that in those moments and such words just simply don't offer any kind of comfort or the feeling of presence and support but instead even often pressure the person into feeling better even if they are not ready/don't have the recourses to do so and makes them feel guilty if they don't proceed to feel better soon.

I understand this, I'll admit I'm guilty of saying the last one but not in the way most people say it. I feel the same, like why would it be helpful to know that life is so terrible others are suffering the same way? But besides that, I say it because although that's terrible, it's not about wanting others to suffer but just knowing that someone understands. This world judges and shames suicidal people so much and this is the only place people really understand, and a lot of people enjoy being understood(including me), even though it doesn't fix anything. So that's why I say it. I hope it doesn't sound stupid and pointless.

My parents are boomers so I particularly disdain that nefarious generation. I will die in my thirties and 50% that useless pos generation will outlive me.

Not that millennials like myself are much better but at least it's not our fault we're so incredibly disfunctional.
