Is suicide by pistol really all that risky?

I'm tired of all the riff raff, the hoops and hurdles of these stupid fucking methods.

I just want to painlessly and instantly end my life. I don't want my head to turn into total mush and it's not practical for me to get a shot gun. I have SN but that's probably going to be painful and uncomfortable. If I don't have to experience pain, then I don't want to. It's not that I'm not ready or couldn't, but I want this to be liberating and not dreadfully miserable. If I could find something like an opiate I would but I can't.

So the only reasonable option for me seems like buying a $200-$300 9mm and eating a bullet. I had a diagram from on here a while ago that showed something like you need a 45 degree angle if you put the gun into your mouth, but I don't want to shoot and somehow fucking miss. Just my luck, I'll end up a vegetable and in immense pain.

I really don't want to hear "just get a shotgun" and shit. I have seen videos of people dropping dead instantly from headshot wounds, and I've seen people somewhat lucid afterwards. From what I know, if you hit the brainstem, you lose consciousness immediately. Maybe if I can figure out exactly the anatomy of that, then I will take some SN until it gets unbearable if so then use the pistol to finish myself off.

I'm in a similar boat.. I bought a "high power" 9mm but I'm scared as all hell to use it. My issue is I don't think I'm brave enough to eat the bullet so I'd want to go for the side shot.. though I know a mouth shot is the better option. Just know you're not alone friend and I'm wishing you all the best

Some here say side is better. Idk. Nothing about anything can just be simple. Above the ear though, supposed to work.

I would say, if you are experienced with guns, know what you are doing and stay calm time of, it's fine. The bad cases are most likely people new to guns or too emotional time of.

You definitely can CTB with a pistol no question, you simply need to do it right. If you know how, have experience shooting, and can remain calm so that you position the muzzle right then you will CTB without pain and difficulty. If you've never shot a gun (i.e. don't know recoil etc), just put the gun randomly to your head and can't think straight because you're too distressed, welllll then there's a decent chance you mess up and don't pass.

All methods are risky. I'm using a firearm, and not at all worried. It's the most effective method to go. As long as you do your research, you'll be fine. Try not to listen to many of the folks here. Many of them live in countries where firearms are prohibited or overly regulated. They don't know much about them. And there are others on here who will try to scare you with warped statistics and one-off horror stories. They're really trying to talk you out of it. If that's actually what you want (and a lot of people on here do...) then no judgement nor beef with wanting to know someone cares. However, ALL methods are risky. So is living life. Either way, you're going to die. I hope this helps in some way.

Thanks for giving support, I feel like the side shot is the scarier option in my opinion.. like it has a lot more room to travel compared to inside of the mouth. Maybe I'm mistaken

I appreciate the added perspective, I didn't think people genuinely would put that much effort into infiltrating the community and trying to deter others, but that makes a ton of sense in hindsight

I've noticed not many people on here talk about guns but I try to remember a lot don't have access to them being from other countries and such (good ol USA) lol I've shot many guns and even tested out the one I'm going to use.. it was fun in a dark way.. I think I'm scared of the recoil of the mouth shot and like it fucking up my teeth in some weird ocd way !! I've read mouth shot is more successful, never under the chin or temple !! Side shot is definitely riskier.. idk what I'll end up doing but it being my fifth attempt I'm ready to go for good.. love the pfp too Briardweller it's gave me a good laugh lol I love horses !!
I like your idea of combining two methods but I fear the effects of SN may make your shot not as reliable to "finish it off". Just a thought.. don't want you to double suffer if one method would work fine on its own ya know !!

Firearms can be risky if one doesn't have the proper preparations or even incorrect tool (insufficient caliber, poor placement, and lack of knowledge, etc.) There are many suicides via pistol and it can be reliable if done correctly. The caliber (usually 9mm, .38special, 44 magnum, 00 buckshot, slugs, etc.) matters too, because using too weak of a caliber leads to a protracted death or even failure with severe injuries. Shot placement is important (never aim below the chin!) and hollywood movies and media portray inaccurate and incorrect information about deaths from firearms. Most of the firearm fatalities involve hitting vital parts of the body (the brain, brainstem, the heart, etc.) and while deaths from firearms are likely, sometimes improper handling or wrong technique, wrong weapon (caliber and firearm) can lead to serious injury and/or failure.

If you are going for a 9mm pistol, I would say hollow point (HP) rounds are better than full metal jacket (FMJ) rounds because HP rounds expand outwards upon impact vs FMJ rounds that just pierce through.

Yeah actually you're right I didn't think about the fact that I'd probably be twitching or convulsing at a certain point with the SN so it might be better off not to use it. Hmm, lots to think about honestly.

Also yeah the username was just a random thing I needed to make something original and not tied to me irl. I love horses too, this was my halloween costume back in like 2013 I wanna say lol.

I'm sorry you've had to go through 5 attempts. I started to jump off a parking garage at one point but I couldn't stop thinking about my body turning into mush and getting on people underneath. I didn't want to scar any children or have to be cleaned up, it just felt rude but I was really close. I ended up swallowing a bunch of medication shortly after, I think it was Lithium and some other pills. It didn't really hurt to be honest but it burned a bit and felt a sense of impending doom. My stomach still hasn't fully recovered and it's been 3 years but ehh. I genuinely hope either your life improves and or you don't have to suffer any further

I've learned a lot from you, TAW122, and I always read your posts and replies whenever your name pops up. I appreciate your input and knowledge on firearms, and I bought hollow points bc of your explanation on them !! Though it sucks, your help is such a useful tool to help people not suffer even more and I thank you for that. Lots to think about Briardweller, I've seen posts about double methods that's like using a gun near water so drowning can also happen. Like you said I fear the convulsions w sn may fuck up your shot.. awesome Halloween costume !! Makes me think of bojack horseman lol and I love that you like horses too !! That's kind of you to consider not hurting other people w jumping (sucks kind people have to suffer so much) and I'm sorry about your tummy issues !! I bet it sucked being reminded of attempts w your stomach hurting.. I tried to jump once too, but I swear a ghost stopped me and threw me from the ledge lol creepy shit.. prob my grandma !!
