Just wanna break free of all suffering

Hello everyone! I'm just wondering whether anyone has any ideas on where I can keep my SN to ensure the quality of it would still be good while minimising the risk of impulsive testing (I know it's very dangerous, but I have history of impulsive overdosing etc despite knowing it wouldn't work).

I was thinking of putting it in a lockbox with a timer (heaps on amazon) in which it would only open after a number of days, and then I could just reset the timer again. Hopefully, when the timer ends, I'm not at a position in which I feel impulsive as I was thinking of writing down the fact that I have to do certain things first before resetting the timer or opening the box. I thought perhaps this is a better way than having a physical key as I wouldn't be able to hand the key to anyone. Although my main problem is that I'm just worried that keeping the SN in a lockbox would make it go bad (I know I'm not meant to freeze it and humidity can definitely mess with it), hence why I'm still unsure.

I would love to hear your feedback as I think this is a good step towards recovery. I find throwing away the means doesn't do a thing for me as then again, I would just resort to other means impulsively. Thanks!

A box with a time lock is a good option.

Thank you! I think so far this is deffo my top option. To combat the heat and humidity, I'm thinking of putting silica gels or moisture absorbents in the lockbox and opening it for a few hours every month (I think the lockbox has a 30 day max capacity anyways). I just hope this will be enough to prevent the SN from getting spoiled while also keeping me safe..

Keep your SN sealed in it's original container. I'd think about putting it in a zip lock freezer bag. Rice also makes a good desiccant. Keep the box in a cool place.

If you get a lockbox, find one that isn't plastic.

I had one to keep my recreational drugs in, I just smashed it open one time with very little effort.

Thank you! With rice do you just put the rice in a bowl or something? And yup definitely storing it in its original container inside a zip lock bag, I think that's a great idea, thank you so much!! I think I might keep the box in my closet in my bedroom :)

That's true! When we have the will, we will find a way I suppose 😅 Thank you for the advice!

I do this too, mine is in its original sealed pack inside a box, inside a safe inside my cupboard. And I have one of those moisture absorbents in the safe. I've checked and after a while no moisture is absorbed in the safe, while in the cupboard itself, moisture is absorbed. So, I'm hoping this is a good sign.

Maybe keep it in a box, but keep that box under a lot of stuff, that requires lots of moving to access.
eg box below other boxes, with paper, small items, etc above it.

One can also extend this idea to a safe with a random passcode that is forgotten, and only 2 of 4 digits are written down, requiring a lot of guessing to open. Test the safe to ensure it won't lockout for many minutes after 10 incorrect guesses.

I really like your idea! I think that's really great. I might look into the random digits part if the timer lockbox happen to not be foolproof enough for me. I do think adding the barrier to move it sounds like a great idea! Thank you so much 🤍
