The Noose Knot is the same thing as a Slipknot. The only difference is which way you tie it, thus which end becomes the long end and the short end. In other words, which part of the rope will slide, and which one will be fixed.
I wouldn't use the Hangman's Knot. That doesn't slide easily, so it's not ideal.
I wouldn't call it an "improved" version. Basically, the Noose Knot and the Slipknot are the same things, apart from the direction in which you tie it. The only difference is which end is the sliding one and which end is fixed.
No I don't hate it,I believe if a person wishes to go then no one has the right to stop them,it's their life so their decision.I think it's wrong that Dr's,mental health workers, police and hospitals rally to stop someone from taking their life when it has nothing to do with them, they should concentrate on their own lives and stop meddling in others,I recently had mental health on my case about this trying to section me off but nurses agree with me that I'm not insane I am pretty rational and don't pose a danger to the public or others, but I'm now under constant surveillance from police, mental health and possibly others which I think is liberty's as they follow me everywhere I go to to stop me from doing anything stupid so I couldn't do it even if I wanted to,I've tested it a few times and sure enough an ambulance is in my carport within minutes so I know they're watching so I'm stuck atm but they can't watch me forever and they best hope they never lose sight of me as I'm fast at disappearing,so no I ain't against it,I just believe in signs when they're given,I got hung when I was 18 and passed out in roughly 7 seconds,so I know how hard it is to fail hanging at all and realistically it shouldn't fail so if it does in my view that's a big sign,I also believe the long drop is by far a better method,if your 5ft 7" and roughly 10 stone you need to drop atleast 8ft for a neck snap or 10ft for a head removal,I've done my research for time but like I say it's just not possible atm with all eyes on me,but I do strongly believe everyone has the right to die at their chosen time with 0 interference from anyone
I just tested my partial rope with position 3 this afternoon. It will work. I almost fucking did myself in. I was about to pass out trying to escape it.

If I'm a do this method I'm gonna have to do the long drop since mental health & police stalk me everywhere I go so a normal hanging wouldn't suffice as it takes upto 30 minutes to actually die where the long drop for me at 5ft7" 10 stone would be 8ft of drop to snap my neck and 10ft of drop to take my head clean off preventing MH & police any chance to stop me at all,if you've told MH about your ideas the chances are they are watching you as that's what they do to try get you sectioned when in reality suicide has absolutely nothing at all to do with mental health, when a person wants to die they ain't mentally disfigured in the brain, they know what's best for their life so mental health should but out and stop being such interfering people's,all they do is more harm than good,I personally think it's vile they're allowed to do what they do,should be shut down and investigated for making people's lives a misery
For full suspension, what height of a support (stool, chair..) would be too low ? or less than ideal ?
i assume 45cm might work, but without setting anything up it can be hard to judge. (and i feel like some things that are physically possible might not be ideal due to the margin of error..)
(and i notice a noose knot drops lower as it constricts - again, just testing with a shoelace rather than looking at a real setup, thinking about lots of possible factors..)
and i assume it may be better to step off backwards so you can kick a support forwards easier ?
(sorry if any of the above sounds like a dumb question that would be solved by me just testing it myself, but some of us are in situations where its hard to actually do that until the day itself / isnt easy to do the whole thing twice)
This is a lot harder than I was expecting. I've practiced a few times and I'm not even starting to go faint or anything, never mind lose consciousness.
Holy. It's pretty scary when you do block some blood flow. Ahh. Survival instinct is real. My life is scary as hell but so laying on the floor with a rope around my neck.

Did you manage to pass out? Where did you position the rope, at the top of the neck or lower? Also, did you experiment by holding the other end of the rope in your hand, or did you fix it to an anchor point (which is a very bad idea BTW)?

The middle of the neck for me seems like the spot. I haven't managed to pass out. But with the set up secured and testing it seems like I could pass out. But my SI kicks in.

No I just started noticing my head being a bit more faint and SI kicked in and I was a bit scared but will have to work through it. It was at the top of my neck. I was fully intending on going through with it initially so I had the rope fixed to my anchor point which is one of those door attachments for resistance bands.
Today my neck hurts. I'll have to try again Friday and hope it feels better by then. Ugh I've eaten excessively as a coping mechanism lately and my neck is getting pretty fat. I hope this isn't going to make things harder.
i have a nice rope coming wednesday, i'm going to try the partial hanging method in my closet, on my bed, or on my doorknob. i hope it all goes as well as it can and that my SI doesn't stop me from doing what is needed to be done
How much do you weigh? It does not sound particularly strong for that diameter.
Does it tie easily and hold a knot?
Is it flexible enough to do the job?
Double braided dock line that size has a working load closer to1600 pounds.
A quick Google search finds these rope charts.
Hey, i have some questions concerning the influence of drop on the total force acted on the rope and the anchor point. I sent you a PM. i would be glad if you can answer it. Thanks

Guide to partially suspended hanging:
Warning: Don't try this method unless you're totally sure that:
a) you want to kill yourself
b) that you won't be found for at least 30 minutes after you attempt.
This method is very lethal and quick (quick from your perspective
anyway, as you black out within seconds), but if you're found in time
and 'saved' you can end up with serious brain damage and/or be left a
vegetable.
Why partial suspension?
Because full suspension seems to me to be unnecessary and creates
difficulties. First of all you need to find a place which would hold
your entire weight, which isn't easy, and also you need a stronger
ligature, which isn't always easy to find either. There's nothing
wrong with full suspension, but it may not be a viable method for
everyone, especially if you're looking to use everyday materials from
around the home.
By partial suspension I mean that you hang yourself around the neck
(specifically the carotid artery), and push downwards while kneeling.
This should create enough downward pressure on the ligature to tighten
it and close the carotid artery and stop the blood flow to your brain.
All you need is 3 kilograms of pressure to do this, which isn't much
at all.
Also, with full suspension your entire body weight is pressurizing
your neck, and this would probably be more than enough to not only cut
off the blood supply to your brain, but break your neck as well. I'm
not too sure if that's a good or a bad thing. I do know though, that
statistically people who've attempted via hanging have more often been
found kneeling and partially suspended than being fully suspended.
Where is the carotid artery?
Before you start you have to know this. If you place your hand around
the middle of your neck, around your Adam's apple, with one thumb on
one side and all fingers on the other, you should feel a strong pulse
and heartbeat. If you close your hand now fairly firmly, you'll
probably make yourself pass out. It might be a good idea to try this
to make sure you've got the right spot.
What type of ligature?
You need a ligature that's strong, but not too elastic. It doesn't
have to be very long, 1 meter or more would be plenty. I'd advise
against nylon rope, string, fishing wire, etc.
Neckties on the other hand, are perfect Smile .
It may also be a good idea to lubricate the ligature with soap. This
would help the noose tighten even quicker, especially if you're using
a rough ligature such as a rope. Lubricating it in this way will
increase the friction once you push your head down and tighten the
noose, and could make it a little more effective and faster.
What type of knot?
A slipknot. It's one of the most basic knots around, and you make it
with one end of your ligature. The other end should go around your
hanging place.
Many people have the misguided idea that a hangman's knot should be
used, but they're wrong. A hangman's knot is for a completely
different purpose, and won't work for this method.
Where should I hang?
You should hang from a support which will hold part of your weight.
You should test this by tying the loose end of your ligature around
the support several times, sticking your hand (NOT your head) in the
noose and pushing down with it. If the noose holds, you're fine. If
not, then you'll have to find another spot.
A great and easy place to hang is from the thick horizontal metal bar
which you find in wardrobes in most homes.
When should I do it?
When no one else will be in the same area, for at least 30 minutes.
You lose consciousness within seconds but your body doesn't completely
die for around 15-20 minutes. The extra 10-15 minutes is for
preparation time and just in case.
How?
When you're completely ready, kneel down, stick your head in the
noose, position it around the carotid artery and push downwards with
your head.

Planning on doing in a month or so would any drugs help and could I use a strong extension cord wrapped around the metal bar for hanging clothes in a closet

Here's my set up. I have both a 10mm and 8mm rope. The 10 was really uncomfortable and didn't seem to cut in enough and the 8 seems to be a bit better. I'm going to have to practice getting the carotid a little bit more. Fortunately things are getting worse and I'm getting more miserable each day so hopefully I can make it through the survival instinct which I wasn't expecting to be so bad.
I think I missed my carotid when I practiced because my face seemed to swell up a lot and felt really weird. I can't believe I'm going to go out by suicide. I used to be the most positive person ever until I lost my good government job a few years back when I reported fraud when I had a position I was required to report fraud in. Now I'm hopeless and in poverty. Fuck doing the right thing, it cost me my life. I guess I just wasn't born for this world. Maybe suicide was my destiny though. I had a lot of bad luck throughout my life and experienced way more than most people. I also come from a suicide family where my cousin successfully did it (he had a gun, I'm so jealous) and two other people failed their attempts. I hope I don't fail I can't stand living much longer. The memories of the good times hurt too much when I have no possible way of getting there again. Those little exercise band holders work really well for hanging rope on the door and was only $10, I highly recommend.

The exercise band holder is a good find. Really simple. Looking at these and thinking about it, they seem really simple and potentially very secure – as long as the door can be securely shut and won't open. Since you already have them, did you notice anything that might be good to know if someone were to use them? Something that might not be obvious at first sight?
By the way, 2 mm in rope diameter shouldn't make a big difference, I wouldn't think that is the problem.

I've gained a bit of weight because I've been stress eating and my neck is kind of fat now so I find the 8mm seems to cut into my neck a bit better but they are very close in diameter! I don't think I'm putting enough weight on them too so that's likely mostly the problem. I don't think I was 100% committed when I tried but I'll get closer and closer. I haven't noticed anything about them except that they are a really great invention for this!
Does anyone have any idea if having high or low blood pressure makes a difference with things? Like I wonder if it's best to avoid stimulants like ADHD meds and caffeine when you want to go through with it or the high blood pressure would help things. I guess at least it would make it easier to locate the carotid from above the skin. Or possibly low blood pressure could be better and drinking alcohol to depress the CNS could be better because it would put less pressure on the rope blockage in the neck.
My friend from India hanged himself full suspension from a ceiling fan. He passed out in under 10 seconds (counted in his head and he used rope) however the fan broke and when he woke up he was laying and couldn't move for an hour. My question is for how long was he in the air until he fell...
