Is this normal? I feel like I'm wired to get them. It can even lend itself into some pretty deep escapist fantasising.

Also feel free to post about any fictional characters you'd give your life savings and devotion too ITT.

I don't know personally, it could be unhealthy, I don't know about normal but I do have admiration towards certain fictional characters, so if that is normal? maybe it's normal to have crushes too? Obviously depends on why the crush exists in the first place, same as the admiration.

I don't think so! It's pretty normal, especially nowadays, guess it depends on how deep it is because then it starts to get unhealthy?
But a lot of adult play dating simulators, make tons of risqué art of characters they like, rambling about the characters and wishing they were real, especially with anime characters. I have fictional crushes myself! I wouldn't say I obssess over them? But whenever they pop up I get happy and stuff, helps me figure out the kinds of personalities I like too.

I'll say this. I used to be REALLY into this guy that I came across from a manhwa I read back in middle school who I still like to this very day! I'll admit I used to fantasize a lot about him back in middle school and get all giddy thinking about him (ah...puberty), I still have the screenshots of everytime he popped up saved somewhere lmao xD

I'll say I don't fantasize much about characters I find attractive but I'll favor them and be willing to spend money for merch of them! I have a ton of characters I found attractive that I can't list haha!
I also really loved Tanjiro from Demon Slayer when I was younger! I mainly liked him as a character but also thought he'd make a wonderful partner too. He's the reason I love empathetic and nice characters.

I've had lots of fictional crushes/ crushes on actors. For me, they felt healthier than my limerent crushes on IRL men. At least I know they're fictional and will never come to anything. For me, they fill a need sufficiently.

I tend to go through phases of being somewhat obsessed with someone. Trying to see everything they've been in. But- butterflies in the stomach, the works. Lol. It feels ok though now because it is a fiction. I wouldn't want to meet them in real life or anything.

Weirdly, there's no one at the moment. They're interesting to observe in myself though. The way there's a small sparkle to begin with that soon becomes a huge tsunami of feelings. The last crush I hoped would last me out till I died. It made life a bit more interesting but, it's past.

I also weirdly tend to be a one at a time fan. Weird because- it's not like I would be being practically unfaithful to anyone but I suppose that intensity of feeling is nice to put on one person. But, I'll return to crushes too- and fictional characters.

I suppose it makes it less likely I will have a real life relationship but, I don't even want one now. That isn't 'normal' or healthy but, I've accepted that my life isn't normal or healthy and I've no desire to change it now. Real life- in my experience anyway- sucked! I'd rather stay away from it where I can and indulge in fantasy to get myself through.

I wouldn't say its weird and normal. Maybe it can go weird if its extreme but if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone who cares. For me they when they do happen it often leads me to look at their sprites or models or whatever visual form they take and that makes me happy for some reason. Also like to copy their poses a lot as to a way to show how I am feeling (tho this does apply to other characters I don't have crushes on but to a lesser degree) Part of this for me probably is autism and hyper-fixating on them.

Currently I would definitely give my devotion to these characters. I definitely don't have problems.
