What a weird few days.

So I recently began seeing a new dentist to deal with the damage to my teeth from the Emesis issue I'm dealing with. She is a Caribbean woman, maybe around the same age as myself, who is very serious and careful about her work, which I truly appreciate. I assumed because of her work demeanor that she was a serious person in general. That was was right until her assistant sparked up a conversation about K-Pop while using the little suction thing so I don't drown on my own saliva.

My dentist's entire demeanor changed to that of a mega fan, she was enthralled in a specific K Drama, she showed a crazy level of excitement about a K Pop group that was in the same airport as her when she visited Korea and the whole time she was speaking I could feel her smile through her mask. The conversation continued on to all things Japan, which is a country and a culture and an entertainment industry that I have a great appreciation and respect for. I did my best to grunt in agreement whenever my dentist brought up an anime I also enjoy.

By the time the visit was finished, I had a large grin on my face, despite having had my teeth drilled into a few minutes earlier. I was in a genuinely good mood and not at all anxious.
I left the office contemplating what exactly had happened that put me in such an uncommonly good place. It seems like the answer is always: "I finally had a healthy and happy interaction with someone again and that is something I've been lacking in my life."

It's so hard to see a person simply as "my dentist" after you've seen them as the human they are outside of work. I wonder how certain people view me when they only know me from a distance and I hope as these people get closer, they see an even better and more in depth version of the person they saw originally.

I've had a few of these serendipitous encounters aside from this particular one in the last few days and it is beginning to paint a picture of another upswing in my life for me. The quality of people improves, my stress decreases, I accomplish more and at a better pace. That is until the eventual downswing. There always seems to be a downswing.

I assume I come off as rambling as most of my posts are written in an uninterrupted stream-of-consciousness kind of way, I just blurt out my thoughts into the message box, but I guess my point to all of this is that I am finally seeing improvements and I just hope it continues the way it has been the last few days. I could really use the change for good.

I hope this is someone else's story as well on SaSu. It would be pretty cool if everyone was posting about how things are improving in their lives all of a sudden. A bit of a dream on my part, but I think most dreams are dreams worth having.

This is an adorable post, haha. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear about the emesis, though. That shit is fucked.

Aww thank you! I appreciate that a ton! And yeah the Emesis is next on the chopping block. I'm about to be an extreme irritation to my doctors until they fix the issue because I am a pretty big proponent for keeping my teeth lol
