Ive gone 5 days without food or water. And still felt i could go another 5. It takes a long time. Pain isn't even the worst. There's a level of psychological torture you have to endure.

I don't have VSED experience, but found under the link below some details in which VSED is described as a gentle and peaceful process, lasting on average 10 days, sometimes less, sometimes more. The importance of keeping the mouth moist
with water was stressend, as apparently it is dehydration that finally causes death. It is stated that mobility suffers before demise. So if doing it alone, there should be access to water for moistening available with easy access from the bed where one is confined, if anything sipping but not drinking.

I suppose some of us may prefer to do VSED by going to a remote forest and just lying down to CTB, but taking water for moistening shouldn't be forgotten. In cold conditions, hypothermia should speed up the process, but my experience in going out scantily clothed to feel the effect has shown me the importance of wearing gloves for comfort, as the cold gets to the hands first, as it also does if wearing open structure shoes with fine stockings for the females among us, who may also want to choose delicate thin lace gloves for hand protection.

I gave this some thought. I've gone like 7 days without any food. I'm sure I can do no water also. My favorite thing about this is this is a method they can't restrict you from, based on what I know. I'd just have to escape and keep my family at bay since it may take 2 weeks to die.

I think VSED can be really painful. The body goes a bit nuts without water, unless you're already in the process of dying. It's possible, but you would need to have iron will.

vsed seems to be mentioned quite often, its unfortunate that its such a bad method when its very easy to access.

I think the only thing that kept OP alive that long was the constant supply of alcohol, even then I'm surprised he didn't succeed. Going weeks without food and only consuming alcohol should have probably did him in. It sounds like a brutal way to try and end it.
