Help Bored in psych ward

Hey, so yours truly is once again locked up in the psych ward >w<. Turns out I suck at lying. Anyway, I was wondering, like I'm just bored. I'm just in my room and I don't know what to do. Like, should I go to the common area? Or I don't know, like I've just been watching YouTube.

One thing that's been on my mind a lot is I really, really, really want to try to compress my carotid artery to try to pass out just to see what happens. I don't know. What do you guys think about that?

Maybe it's weird for me to post this because I've been to the psych ward a fucking lot. I can't even count how many times, but I'm just bored right now.

I have tried it at home, but I can't seem to get it to work. But honestly, I don't think the psych ward is a good place to try that.

That's weird. I'm in the closed, most high-security part of the psych ward, but it's really chill here like it's actually super nice. Maybe it's just different countries? because actually every single time I've been to a psych ward, I've been allowed to have my phone except for in Japan. There I had to sign like a contract to be allowed to use my phone where I like I promise not to take videos and stuff.

I have tried it at home, but I can't seem to get it to work. But honestly, I don't think the psych ward is a good place to try that.

I just tried it a few times, what the fuck it doesn't work- I thought I was gonna pass out like instantly if I fucking held it, but I guess I can't find it?? ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡

Yeah, I only managed like one and a half months of being in Japan before I was rushed to the ER in an ambulance, and then a couple of days later, I was admitted to the closed part of the psych ward.

Honestly, it was super nice and the staff were really friendly. The food is what I remember the most— It was just a really delicious there, but that was probably the psych ward I've been to where like the people were the most crazy. There were some really, really crazy fucking people there..

Sometimes I'm also unlucky enough to land in one that is stuck in a world of a few decades ago where there is no entertainment whatsoever.

Most cases, I just sleep. But if the ward is the type to confiscate beds (which has happened before) then I just let my mind do the fizzle out of existence thing until I'm snapped out of it.

0/10 don't recommend rehearsing. I hate 1-on-1 monitoring.

Honestly, having a technology-independent hobby is a godsend.

Most cases, I just sleep. But if the ward is the type to confiscate beds (which has happened before) then I just let my mind do the fizzle out of existence thing until I'm snapped out of it.

Honestly, having a technology-independent hobby is a godsend.

Oh wow! I feel blessed to be in the ward I'm in rn then. It's only two years old, and we even have smart TVs in our room (with plexiglass over it so we can't go crazy style— but still!). Just an hour ago, I was in this creative workshop thing with some other patients, and I made keychains— though I didn't really want to go, but my contact person sorta made me do it.

There's also a massage chair, huge common areas, and a courtyard, plus like a whole sense/stim room. This is probably the nicest ward I've been to. The others I've been to have all seemed quite tired and old.

But yeah I'm just bored in my room, tried sleeping but couldn't. Then I tried compressing my carotid artery for like 40min but also couldn't.

That's one hell of a magical ward. Holy.

My last one had common room TVs, some books, and a few board games and that was it.

Probably the most technological thing we got around us besides the TV were the tracking beacons we got to wear everywhere.

That was always the worst part lol. Yes while I'm taking a piss I am going to stick my head into the toilet to try drowning myself. Yes you need to watch my hands as I wipe my ass lol, I might pull a macgyver and turn toilet paper into a blade which I will promptly stick into my femoral artery.
The last ward I was in didn't even need a person physically in the room with you, they had cameras at all angles on the ceiling which they watched like hawks and the second you started pacing around they'd come rushing in going WHATS WRONG DO YOU NEED SOMETHING TO HELP YOU SLEEP COME TO THE NURSES STATION FOR MEDS

Its hard to lie to some of them people. The best bet is early being quiet. Once you sit in front of the shrink. A good one they are gonna find out. They will do crap diagnosis, but the fact that you have plans is the hard part.

I resonate with your username. I've had 5 failed suicide attempts trying to overdose and this one lady I met in the ward said she had 10 attempts!

It's really a unique experience per person and place. Even in this thread alone you can see experiences differ. I've heard some people having amazing, life changing experiences. I however, have not experienced anything remotely as wonderful.

If you have any medical complaints they keep you in the hospital to treat them and as soon as you are well they ship you to the psych ward if that's where they decide you're going.

They only surefire way to not be put into a ward after a botched attempt is to not be seen, not be heard, and stomach the pain. If you go to the ER they'll run their little string of tests, take a good hard look at you (if they're good), and as mentioned above if it they catch even a whiff of mental disturbance, most likely you'll get involuntarily transferred to the ward.

I really wish that was an option that would certainly make things easier, but that's not possible where I live.

anyway, things have kind of gotten from bed to worse for me. I really fucked up this time (https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/failed-partial-hanging-in-psych-ward-i-fucked-up.203545/). i'm gonna probably stay here a couple weeks and they want to do electro shock therapy and I don't know if that's a good thing. It sounds so scary.

I know that if I go through with my next suicide attempt, there's a good chance I'll end up in a psych ward if I don't die. If I'm conscious after the attempt, I won't go to the ER because they can't really force me to. Im not really worried about the 'mental disturbance' part. There was this one time I got kicked out of my mom's house, and someone found me crying on the street and called 911. When the ambulance took me to the ER, I mentioned I was thinking about ending my life but didn't know how. They seemed indifferent, but once I was in the hospital, I completely changed my story, joking about suicide and all that. They realized I wasn't a real threat at that point. and the last time I was at that hospital, they literally told them I was just practicing hanging myself, and they didn't really believe me since I didn't have any marks on my neck. I had been practicing a couple of days before, and the marks had mostly faded by then. I was using a belt at that time, and on that day, I pressured them into giving me a discharge letter so I could leave early. They couldn't keep me there, and my parents were supposed to pick me up. But I lied and gave them a fake name and number for my next of kin so my mom wouldn't find out, and it worked. They were like, 'Okay, you can go,' so I did. So aka my local mental hospital is really incompetent and don't know I'm constantly lying to them to avoid psych ward, so I'll feel like next ill attempt and I'll weasel or avoid psych ward vist

I'm an EMT. If we are called we can absolutely take you involuntarily if there's enough suspicion you just attempted suicide. So make sure no one is going to call us.
