I was talking with my co-worker about how before I got my job I had $14 in my bank account and was on the brink of homelessness, and therefore, suicide (I still am but yknow). He was telling me there's always other things I could do, like go to a shelter, live out of my car, etc.

I think what they don't understand is that already being on the brink of suicide does not make any of those options appealing. Why the fuck would I make myself more miserable living out of my car when I could just ctb? The only reason I'm still here anyway is to buy more time for prep. But if I did have to put myself in that position then I wouldn't give a shit about prep. I'd just do it.

I think it also ties into the whole idea that there's apparently always something we can do when we've exhausted every option. But first of all: a lot of us actually have exhausted every option and they don't give a shit about us once we have, and second of all: what if we don't fucking care to try?

Realistically how many options are we actually expected to go through? Is there really any point when we're "allowed" to make our own choice to die? Seems like the only time they agree is when there's some kind of fatal disease that is only going to continue to cause pain before it kills you. What they don't see is that a lot of our situations already are that. Just without what technically qualifies for a fatal illness.

Anyway… how do y'all feel about people saying this? Does it piss you off, or give you any hope?

its hardly "living", moreso just surviving. these people dont understand the pain that causes one to get to this point in the first place; as long as one is alive, they can be happy, and thus suicide is never an option in their mind. but what do you do when you cant feel such no matter what you try? youre already an active suicide risk, you can see that things are going to get worse, why let them?

Even when you do have an actual fatal illness they still can say that. Many people simply do not understand.

My thoughts exactly, suicide is reassuring because I know that no matter how bad things get I always have an out. But since I already feel suicidal when the situation isn't terrible then maybe other people in those sorts of bad situations just get more out of their own lives than I do...

I feel like so many people cannot for one single second entertain the idea that death could be a nice escape from pain. That the world we live in now is just one state of being and after death is another... Why fight tooth and nail just to sleep in your car, all for what..? The same ending ?

what if we don't fucking care to try?

It kinda makes me jealous to see the hunger some people have for life. I just really don't care sometimes... I feel like anything that needs to get done will get done, and there are enough people who somehow do care that hard that the world will keep spinning, so... No real need for me to be here.....

Interesting question, its cool to see that some people love living on our green rock but also yeah its annoying to be told by people who clearly love life that those who don't are doing it wrong/trust me bro keep going anyway

Humans in general don't care how much you suffer as long you are still alive for it.

Impoverishment is a human made system, and this species couldn't care less who falls through the cracks, and how long they stay down there.🤷🏾‍♂️

For sure. Another common thing I hear is "it'll get better," and they say this regardless of the situation. I'm sure for some people that's true, but for those who it isn't true I guess we just don't exist to them? Or that we have to live anyway for gods know what reason.

That the world we live in now is just one state of being and after death is another...
Exactly!! They either don't care, or don't care to try to imagine that death could be any kind of peace. Death has to be this horrible thing because we can't comprehend it. Can't understand something = bad. But they're gonna die someday too so like, have fun never being able to grapple with that lolz

This too. There are so many systems INTENTIONALLY put in place to make people suffer, but apparently we're the crazy ones for not wanting to take it anymore. I'm tired of fighting for something "better." It's literally never happened once in my life and truthfully I wouldn't care if there were some happy future out there for me anyway.

They don't care. They just want to feel good about themselves by regurgitating the same garbage as they always do. Just saying something and forgetting about it. Means nothing to them.
Also, the pathetic idea that living is brave, and suicide is cowardly that's been ingrained in society. Living is literally the most automatic, unavoidable and mundane thing in existence, what's so "brave" about that? Most of them would instantly be suicidal in any of our shoes, no matter the reasons we have. But ok, sorry for the little rant.

I take it as something that comes from a position irreconcilable with mine: those who insist that everyone must exhaust all imaginable options value life on itself (to the point of considering it sacred in some cases) and I don't.
