Saving my world first before theirs.

I'm afraid that I'm going to live a lonely life.

2 weeks from now, I graduate from college. I will be on my own for a long time. I don't have a lot of close friends, I'm not as close with family and I tend to keep to myself. After giving it some thought, it's starting to get to me on how I will just be on my own for XX amounts of years. Paying my bills, going to work and trying to navigate the adult world.

Now I like being alone, but it's going to be a really... really... really long time that I will be in isolation. I'm projecting to at least 50 years. I don't know how I can manage that and that is what makes me terrified.

I have hobbies and I know of some people, but I it's the timespan that makes it scaryfor me.

Does anyone have any advice or tips for this? Anything helps.

Congratulations on graduating college!

You'll probably make at least acquaintances at work. I rarely interact with my work buddies outside of work, but it does make the week less lonely when I get to talk to them (most of them work from home Tuesday - Friday, but we do have Monday as our in-office team meeting days).

Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, you'll probably have neighbors. Maybe you'll get a knock on your door every so often from someone needing one more egg for a recipe. Maybe there's a loud, strange noise and everyone runs outside together. Maybe someone has a grill and invites the neighbors over for barbecue.

Maybe you find a restaurant that you frequent and become friendly with the staff there.

If you seek close friendships and / or romance, I hope those things come to you. But if you do wind up living alone for a while, know that your life very likely will still be filled with smiling faces and friendly words.

Also, pets. If you travel, an axolotl can be left alone for a few days.
