• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Every person I talk to tells me this.
My life is suffering. I want that suffering to stop. How is that not perfectly logical?
The answer is, it IS rational, but normies can't comprehend the idea that somebody might actually want to hurt or kill themselves for a reason.
They say the platitude but never back it up with an actual logical argument.
I love this website. It's the only place where you can say "I feel suicidal" or "I'm going to kill myself" and people don't spout the trite sound bites which we've all heard a billion times before. Instead, they express understanding. It's honestly far more helpful than any hotline.

Ironically, the UK almost certainly banning VPNs and Tor within the next few years will be one of the reasons I kill myself. I can't stand living in a total-surveillance panopticon state. Any speech they don't like is "harmful content". You're totally making me feel better by gagging me. Nah, fuck off.

I guess stopping the suffering is not exactly the same as killing yourself. But it's true that we suicidal people aren''t finding another way to stop it

I understand, I also just wish to be free from all the suffering of this torturous, cruel existence, I'll just always prefer to not exist than be burdened with this existence that just causes suffering all for the sake of it with no limit as to how much one can suffer just to be tortured by old age, I could never see what's so irrational about wanting permanent peace from all unnecessary suffering.

It's assumed anyone that wants to kill themselves must be mentally ill and so is not capable of making decisions. This is the approach the law takes. So even if someone is terminally ill and in the most extreme amount of pain, they cannot be allowed to end their suffering. It's barbaric.

Majority of people don't understand that psychiatric conditions and suicidal thoughts are not one overlapping circle. Plenty of people are suicidal without having mental disorders.

I am mentally ill, and I know what I want. Not mutually exclusive.

I agree but unfortunately, the law and the medical industry don't see it that way. I do think it is complicated as mental illness and suicidal feelings can be transient. However, for example, someone suffering from severe untreatable schizophrenia should have the ability to end their life peacefully.

Mass surveillance and abuse of government is the reason I'm contemplating CTB too.
