nobody wants to end up like that for obvious reasons, but then again tho... you WOULD be out of pain.
i doubt those vegetables feel anything.
i just would hope that they would turn off the respirator or whatever all that hospital shit is called

I wouldn't mind. Like you said, the hospital would eventually pull the plug anyway. Your consciousness would be long gone from the body. So, why not? I'm not paying to exist anymore, and I'm going to get what I want anyway. It's a win-win.

I fear that Couse I will be rotting in the street while being a dish for hungry animals...tho I would be reducing hunger. ( Moral logic) But if I'm brain-dead and can't feel or have consciousness at all then yes please.

I don't really know how much or how little people feel or notice without consiousness. I read about a woman who survived a suicide attempt and was in a coma for several days before eventually recovering and she claims to have memories of the period in a coma. I am not sure, if I am willing to trust this information or if it is some pro life bullshit. But I have heard this notion before that noone really knows, if people in a coma still notice what is going on around them and are just unable to react in any way.

No cuz then I'll still be a useless financial burden on others, its better off to ctb and die than to ctb and still have others financially support a dead vegetable

Would rather be gone, but that might be the next best thing to be honest. Are you really there if you're a vegetable?

This is my worst fear omg, if I fail that horribly just let me go. Being forced to listen to my family with no escape sounds like torture. I'd only be okay with it if there was a way to ban them from coming in but if I'm unable to express that desire then I'm just stuck.

If I am 100% not conscious then yes. My spouse has to pay a massive hospital bill after finally pulling the plug and I could be an organ donor. Maybe even get an honor walk. That would be dope.

I fear that more than death itself.

The idea of possibly feeling pain or terror or being aware of my state yet unable to say or do anything about it.

Like locked-in syndrome.

Also, in the US economy/healthcare system? It's doubtful they'd even allow me to take up residence as a veg.

Shit, they don't even like helping me now.

I'm not going to guess what being a vegetable actually feels like. I remember reading about a guy who attempted suicide and ended up as a vegetable. He was still able to communicate by blinking, and when asked if he still wanted to die, he blinked twice to say yes. The narcissistic family kept him alive anyway. He eventually died like 2 years later.

With that said... I would still be ok with being a vegetable. I wouldn't have to try to live a life I'm doomed to fail at, and chances are I would still die within a few years.

Idk it sounds scary but maybe it's not that scary. If you are not conscious. The loss of control is what gets me I guess.

Have a legally binding "living will" with your wishes if you were to ever end up like that. No feeding tubes, no trachs, no respirator, no reliance on any machine keeping you alive. Pull the plug! You could end up like that just being in an accident or having a stroke, not just a failed suicide attempt.

No, my pain will never be over until my body and mind are both destroyed. It's not enough to be braindead, I need to be completely dead.

That's a horrible way to speak about other people I'm sorry. You can't know how someone who can't communicate experiences the world. You don't get to label them functionally dead either. Jesus Christ.

Yes. Everyone needs one of these just in case you are unable to communicate your wishes. Some people have strokes(or other bad medical events) and are unable to communicate their wishes or move their body but are aware of the hell they are in.
Many people set up living wills. Young and old because you never know and it takes pressure off the family having to make these difficult decisions.

How would it not exist? You sound new to the world 🌿. To be clear, they'd still do everything possible to save you, there's no preventing that. DNR's are disregarded unless it's a natural death.

That sounds like horrific extreme torture to me and it's just so evil to me how people are forced to suffer like that against their wishes trapped in this torturous existence, it's criminal to me how trying to cease existing can go wrong and lead to way worse torture.

I see it as criminal how dying painlessly is made illegal by those who want others to suffer for as much and as long as possible in this existence I just always saw as the most terrible, dreadful mistake, I'll just always see it as an abomination to suffer in this existence, existence to me will always be a mistake. I'd never be ok to exist no matter what anyway, it's so cruel and dreadful to me how this existence was ever imposed at all, all that existence ever causes is all this torture and agony with no limit as to how much one can be tortured with existing beings in agony every second.

As long as im not conscious ill take it. I dont care what happens with my body, Im already seeing my values and core self burning and being tortured in real time who cares about the dignity of what is essentially a corpse.

Anything that removes me consciousness from everywhere, then yes, but I won't get any support from anyone to keep my body alive and even if I get it, there will be no brain activity. Basically dead anyway. I wouldn't want anyone to keep my body alive anyway just in case.

A vegetative state seems to be different to being braindead when I read about the differences. There are some people in vegetative states that experience some form of consciousness. The clinical definition of being braindead however implies that there is no consciousness. I think though in Internet slang people don't really Differentiate.
