Would the police go through my phone if I was found passed outside?

I'll be on the street again in abt a week, I'm either using the night night method or yew poisoning. I don't have money for a hotel so my best bet is to try to find somewhere somewhat secluded probably in some trees or something. I'm concerned that they would go through my phone if they have to do a full investigation but I also don't wanna factory reset my phone on the off chance it fails does anyone know if they usually go through someone's phone during their investigations?

In the UK, yes they will. Factory reset will do nothing but make it take a bit longer for them.

Please understand that they absolutely have the ability to read out data from the memory chip itself.
So just "breaking" your phone also won't truly help.

You either have to completely overwrite every single bit on your memory chip (something a factory reset won't do) or break the chip in the middle so no data can be recovered.
You can also just dump it in a sea or something. They won't go out of their way to search for your phone.


Then:
Please don't do yew poisoning. It will be a terrible and disgusting way to go.
Night-night has (afaik) no reported deaths here. Then again, not many used it.

it only removes the sectors. The allocation of the data.

So new data just overwrites the sector.
But it would cost way too much time and is also extremely taxing on the internal SSD storage to overwrite everything truthfully.
Therefore a factory reset basically just tells your phone "hey there is no data. Feel free to write your data there and allocate new sectors" while your old data is still there.

Unfortunately jumping is a no go, I'm in a wheelchair. I've tested yew poisoning before I found this thread it wasn't all that bad. Made my blood pressure low, mild nausea and a mild headache but I was pretty tired from the tea and just took a nap. I definitely didn't take enough because the tea tasted like ass so I poured half out to dilute it. The next time I use it I'll be taking over 70g (50g being typical lethal dose) I dried it and put it in gel capsules so I don't have to worry about taste. The biggest thing I'm worried about is nausea and vomiting. I hate throwing up but I plan on taking a couple of my trazadone and muscle relaxers with it so I'm pretty knocked out before the effects really hit

Im in America, they want us dead in my opinion. I can't get on disability payments because pretty much every doctor I've seen thinks I'm too young to have these issues or that it's psychosomatic which makes it so much harder to have enough proof to get approved even then the max amount the government will give me is $960. Not even enough to pay rent. Family doesn't wanna deal with me due to the disability too so I just don't feel the point in continuing to fight a losing battle. I've considered trying to get into a nursing home but since I'm only 25 that takes very specific diagnosis and I don't have those

I was still used to the (g)olden days where phones were insanely insecure xD

Well for the last part it would still require you to do a specific type of wipe. Not doing it will allow someone to recover data via tools like Recuva or by just knowing the sector size.

In the US they will go through your phone and a factory reset may hide some things but they will be able to see more than you think. If you use iCloud you may want to get rid of that as well.

My suggestion would be to turn your phone off, remove the sim and hide it somewhere you can retrieve it should things not work out.

I usually use fdisk to handle my drives. Then again, I never needed to do a secure erase

Ensure your phone does not do back ups -switch them off, and also erase all back ups.

I dont know if it helps, but if you can hide ypur phpme somewhere they wont find it, in a RFID blocking fabric

Ive wondered if once you do a factory reset, ypu cam then start it videoing. I guess the issue with that is you wpuld have tp save the video. If ypu dp this, does it 'write over' the previous data so it can no longer be read?

I'm not as techy as other posters, Ive just considered the same issues
Ive read that factory reset is better on newer phones than older ones, because of modern privacy concerns
