I spend about £100 a month trying to win the lottery , houses, etc
I've convinced myself that if I had financial security for life it'd give me something to live for.
Never won more than £100 of course.
I did inherit £50,000 a few years ago and it brought me no happiness whatsoever in fact it made me more depressed cos I realised that if you've got no life and no friends money is not going to fill the hole. If I did win a large amount of money I'd be able to spend lots of time somewhere with better weather than grey wet Northern England and I'm sure this would reduce my misery.

Money would definitely help me. If I had enough to leave my abusive, alcoholic husband and live comfortably with my cats, that would help a lot. If I didn't have to work that's even better and I really think I would become a bit of a hermit and live quite peacefully.

Definitely, I could do so many things without worry, I wouldn't need to care if the rest of the human race likes what I do and wants to buy it.
My need to die isn't born out of depression, but out of bad life circumstances.

It wouldn't fix everything, not even close, but it would definitely make me less suicidal. Because I wouldn't be so scared of becoming homeless, or deal with the guilt of having to rely on loved ones to survive

No, or atleast not yet. I have enough money to buy what i want and my parents still give me money.

Honestly, I don't think I have any interest in money in a meaningful way. But it honestly feel like not having any sense of self-preservation of not having any money. (My familly was quite rich actually)

During my childhood, I can easily gift my friend something. But at one point, my parents told me that I should've gotten paid for the help that I gave to my friends.

This changes how I think about money, it's more like "I deserve to be compensated for my work!" Rather than needing it to survive or to buy what I want.

For me it's no, even when I have more money, it only may help me to get some dopamine in the moment, but I'm just addicted to buying different things (online subscriptions, clothes…) or gambling and after a short time (and speneing/losing the money) I feel the same as before or even worse. I'm depressed and money just can't cure my mental issues

Yes. I'm willing to work. Three times now I've lost jobs to mergers/acquisitions. I'm older and the job market is a nightmare. I've made mistakes in life but I should still be at my first job. Greed will kill me. If one of those places never got wiped out I wouldn't even be on this site, let alone going to do it.

I would definitely be a better kind of depressed if I had lots of money😛 Things would definitely improve because I could leave my job. I hate the department I am in now. Every day is miserable. The benefits are too good to leave though. I have been depressed before but not actively making suicide plans. To be fair any major disaster in my life could not have been solved by having money. It's just in my current headspace not having to worry about work and money would be amazing.
