If you do it wrong it can be painfull, also if it fails and the rope rips. Make sure nobody finds you soon. Atleast 30 minutes but the longer you won't be found, the better. If you do get saved, you might end up getting brain damage, disabled, paralized, or even blind.

The convulsing shouldn't be long. A few seconds to a few minutes. Your body most likely won't swing a lot afterwards. It should stop then and it'd be silent. I really hope it works!! I'm so sorry about your situation:(
