If you are going to do this, do it at night, do it where no people are likely to be around, and you will also need patience for the first train that comes. In some cases it can be 6+ hours between two trains passing.

I've thought about it, but the trauma for the train conductor makes me very hesitant. Forcing an unwilling participant to be involved in my suicide feels morally wrong to me. Otherwise I would.

Obviously, you would be found almost immediately. The train would stop, Medical help would be called and IF there was any hope of saving you, they would try... so still not a guaranteed CTB.

True. But at this point it won't really matter to me because I will be laying my head on a train track in a little over a week. There is nothing left for me to do but wait until I can do it.

It's a very fast and painless way to go. The top speed of a metra train in the U.S is 79 mph. But let's just assume it's half that so 40 mph. The weight of a metra train is 385,000 lbs. Use this simple equation to calculate force. F=ma. 385,000x40=15,400,000 newtons or 3,461,920 lbs of force. That's equivalent to 288 African elephants. Yea, you're not going to survive 3,000,000 lbs of force hitting your face. Plus it's fast, easy, and simple. You don't have to go out of the way of getting prescription grade antiemetics just so you can swallow some SN. Or spend a ton of money on getting Nembutal. Not everyone has access to SN so the train could be a better method.

The physics isn't quite right there because you're mixing imperial and SI units and because youre using speed instead of accelaration. That being said, impulse might be a more useful thing to know. It's roughly going to be 3.8 meganewton seconds of impulse. (385000/2=192000kg, 40×1.8×1000/60^2=20m/s, 192000×20=3840000Ns)

Here in Brazil is quite common suicide in the subway. In the largest city they needed to install anti-suicide doors to prevent.

I thought of that but I was scared it could go wrong since when the train is arriving at the station he's already slowing down.

But I don't get that "pstd other people" like people are evil and we are the ones suffering. My grandma saw someone jumping off a building once. She was chocked but life kept going, is not something that traumatized her for life.

My teenage neighbor died this way. From what I heard, he was walking on the tracks and listening to music. Ever since, I've thought many times of doing this. Freight and Amtrak trains operate on the ones he died on. The freight trains look awfully slow but I no longer know when the Amtrak goes by in this specific location. My therapist also told me she's treated conductors for PTSD so that also gives me pause.
