I sometimes see people here complain they don't feel human, and while I understand people want to fit in, there seems to be more than that. Like the book No Longer Human, the protagonist fits in, but he still doesn't feel human because of how different he is on the inside. Why does that matter to people?

To me, humans are these undesirable creatures, 99% of them are either bad people or conformists (as in they are okay with living in our current society whether they are ignorant to its flaws or not.) I don't want anything to do with them. So I don't understand why some people here want to feel human when you can scroll through this site and see so many stories of humans acting like assholes. The whole reason this site is here is because normal humans cannot understand us. Why would you want to feel like a species that cannot understand and maybe won't even accept you.

Lastly, to anyone here who want to feel/be humam. To me, simply the thought of wishing so is extremely human. Because to me all other animals would not want to be human. Only humans would want to be human.

I wonder what human is anyways, I mean who knows really? We all know how cruel humans can be and how kind humans can be. We are all different, so what is normal, or is there even such a thing? Sometimes I'm ashamed of being human because of all the bad stuff humans are capable of. To me, everyone here seems more human than the ones out there, because of all the kind and genuine people here, the type of people we seldom come across in the real world. Maybe us here are more human because of what we had to go through out there. Hope I'm making sense in a way 🙂

I agree with you and your post was thought-provoking. It is definitely complex.

I think part of it is that being isolated can create a painful sense of loneliness. Biologically, we have evolutionary throwbacks to when we were monkeys in a violent, hierarchical tribe dynamic (as a society have we even moved past that?). To be outcast has generally been bad for survival and reproduction, so this trains our emotional responses.

When I lived with my family and was not treated well i'd say to myself that i felt like i was a subhuman, or was treated like a subhuman. Rather than not being human that is a bit different since subhuman is lower than human. Escaping the hierarchy by thinking of ourselves as nonhuman rather than subhuman - outside the primate hierarchy rather than rejected and lower - may be a perspective that preserves dignity. Rationally i think i can clearly see it is all absurd...

i would so much rather be braindead in some way shape or form, if I'm forced to be human

one of my friends basically tried to say that if i wanted to kill myself still after he finished his medical degree he would lobotomize me (to try to get me to stop being suicidal), but honestly that sounds heavenly
