Me personally have a love hate relationship with it. I'm a completionist who doesn't really left game until I do all the content it has to offer. And then comes gacha games which doesn't really end because they're constantly updating. So as a result I always feel kinda bad when I don't manage to finish it. Don't get me wrong, I love the gameplay, but sometimes the daily tasks or the routine everyday just get repetitive.

For example I spend 30 minutes doing dailies in gacha games, and I get zero progress towards its completions because its just maintaining the account. But when I spend the same 30 minutes on "real" games, I probably get like 1-3% of progression

While I don't like gacha games, I can't help but to play them lol. I love Reverse1999, and I used to play Genshin, HSR, and others; but I personally dislike the concept of limited time banners and seasonal stuff since they're so annoying, it works to keep me playing though. For dailies... well, I peraonally just don't do them; it's just too much work;-;...

Yeah, these games really emphasize on FOMO. You miss an event, you say goodbye to that event forever. Rewards gone, story gone, characters gone. But how is your account when you're not doing dailies? Surely they're like the major contributing factor for you to build characters. And building characters equal progressing through the story

I have only played one gacha game ( project sekai, it's a rhythm/gacha game) I think for the overall experience you can have a pretty good experience, but I agree it's tiring to be doing dailies and having to grind. But if you like completing games gacha is just not for that 😭😭😭 I think it's pretty much impossible to 100% a gacha game. Though if I'm not mistaken for this game ( proseka ) there is one guy who has literally everything in the game, but this guy certainly spent his whole life savings for that lol

Ahahahah yeah I do think it is impossible to really finish 100% a gacha games. And as a perfectionist, it irritate me, in a way. I always squeez drain every content in that game, and it is impossible for gacha game. I play PJSK too, believe it or not I have play for like 8 month and I only read like 8 story arc of Nightcord. It really is impossible to know all the context for "Anyone else hear the omnious bell tolling?!?!" if you are a new player.

I've played some of Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero but well I just don't like the gambling parts of these games. I also don't like having to keep up with the battle pass for the season in games like Call of Duty and Fortnite, if I don't finish it that content is gone forever. I've seen new characters you can gamble with primogems for in these gacha games and once it's gone you can't get it ever again.

Predatory and addictive, new age gambling. Makes me painfully sad just how much gacha mechanics have taken over the gaming landscape, even in games series that didn't used to include them.

But, I fully understand the appeal, especially because I was once really deep in a gacha game. It was a truly miserable period of my life, and looking forward to new drops/events gave me a reason to get out of bed in the morning. It was also fun having an active community of people I could play with and share my pulls/collection with. Even if I recognize how predatory it was, and how much money I lost playing it, I still have fond memories of that game, and I can't really say I regret it. An "unhealthy coping mechanism" is still a coping mechanism, especially when you have nothing else.

In my opinion, some of those games would be amazing if they weren't forcing us to grind forever, the strong money-focus that comes with their production cuts their wings (as Genshin have shown before), My opinion is pretty mixed, while I don't like the nature of their existence, some of them are amazing.. so only lack of luck, money and time is getting in the way of enjoying them.
Which parts are amazing? Well, for example designs, music, story, characters, gameplay, but all of them die once the game ceases operation...
Those positive elements sometimes shine so bright they restore my faith in gacha games, only temporarily though! Then if you play.. you gotta play everyday, you cant miss events, the characters you had are not as good anymore! and generally, you gotta make it your full time job to play a game!
I mentioned story, but I wish more stories were good, like.... some events really just feel like a so called "slop", literally nothing happens that leads to some change or something truly fun, the rewards are all calculated and minimal, nothing too crazy, or you just get a "demo" of an event, want the better rewards? pay some $$$
Gotta love these gacha games..

I used to be addicted to them but honestly needed to mostly put it down and move towards "I bought it, I own it" purchases. I still play one gacha based card game online and get giddy when my random 10-pack card gives me something rare, but I solely play just to play and don't grind anything (why yes I have more losses than wins). I just got a super rare card yesterday from a casual pack and went "eh", and kept playing. I wish I could trade it with another account, people have been begging for that card for a month now.

I don't suggest getting into them because they're difficult to quit, but once you're in, it's virtual quicksand.

I bought a CRK account and it's crazy how many freebies new accounts stack up, I had like 500k gems and 400 pulls each on limited and standard

regarding gacha it's def a love hate relationship as well for me, i get to experience the goated art and cutscenes but as a f2p/low spender it sucks not being able to get everyone that I want. Arknights Endfield seems pretty good right now and you can guarantee the limited character for the first banner out right now only from freebies. Not sure how that'll pan out into the future patches but so far the game's pretty fun

Depends on how predatory it is and how it treats f2p players. Like Limbus Company is technically a gacha game but you can grind enough to just get whatever characters in the gacha. All the characters also reappear again if you missed them the first time.

Dragalia Lost was also cool, that game had no PvP and gave a lot of currency. There was limit to improvements but if you're causal and not min-maxing it doesn't rlly affect you. This game also has plenty of old characters that cycle back in. Then Nintendo shut it down cause they are poopoo heads.

Genshin Impact and any Mihoyo games though can very much be criticized for being p2w and kinda promoting gambling.

Cookie run games gave a lot of free currency but they're a bit too p2w imo.

The CS:GO and CoD shit are strsight up gambling though. You can literally sell the stuff you won.

Also shoutout to Granblue Fantasy for getting sued over shit pull rates.

I'm a whale in whichever game I like. Used to be a big spender in Fire Emblem Heroes. I've tried to cut down on it but I always find more. Currently I only really play Nikke and Pokemon TCG Pocket these days.

eh thing is those character banners do come back eventually as reruns which actually gives you time to save up for said character and get it for free

Just use a compass to not miss them. Sounded better in my head ngl
