I listen almost entirely to classic rock, basically 80's and earlier. My father was often playing such music while I was growing up and it has stuck with me into adulthood.

Don't really like music, so any that is off would be my preference, although if metal is somewhat bearable.

I like it when songs sound muffled, and the singer's voice sounds lazy. Is it partially shoegaze, I'm not sure. I like lyrics that are about something that is close to me, like describing feelings or a situation I found myself in.
I also like OSTs, because through the scenes in which the music is played, or the overall mood of the media, the music gains more context and associations for me

same. emo rap is the main music genre I listen to. I don't mind the sexual lyrics and I don't think having sexual lyrics is a lack of lyrical talent, most rappers just sing about their life and their past experiences and sex is being one of those unforgettable experiences, I like that. tho I can imagine how hard it is to find rap songs without the sexual lyrics in them. I mean, that's what rap is literally about: drug topics, sexual topics and crime topics.

my favorite rap artists are Lil Peep and Juice WRLD
most of the Lil Peep's songs are about love, depression and suicidal ideation and most of the Juice WRLD's songs are about heartbreak, depression and drug addiction.
they both passed away at age 21, unfortunately.

I like almost anything but my top genres are lo-fi, dubstep, and metal (preferably not much screaming so I can sing along).

I like all kinds of music, although there are some genres I enjoy more than others.

I'd say my favourite stuff to listen to is EDM, Acid Techno, House, Eurodance, Italo-Disco, Alternative Rock, Industrial, Punk Rock, Crust Punk, Tropical House, Jangle Pop, Ambience, Experimental, Harsh Noise, and some 'Golden Era' Hip-Hop (aka Hip-Hop from before the year 2000).

Especially a lot of songs from the 1990s and early 2000s, there are so many great tunes from back then. I know I'm gonna sound "BoRn iN Le WrOnG GeNeRaTiOn" but I'm serious when I say that I think music in the past sounded better than a lot of the tunes that have come out in the past decade.

i do listen to other music but my favorite type is what makes me the most melancholic i guess lol. (usually) female singers who sing slow, calming, dreamy, sad and almost cinematic songs. mostly 70s or around that era. i call it "lovely music" cause i guess i find everything about the music lovely from the lyrics to the instruments and their voices and the experience of listening to it. lana del rey is the obvious answer so my other examples:

When I enjoyed music (truly), the last thing I was listening and was my favorite was Chanson (I believe it's the genre), like Joe Dassin, Dalida, Christian Delagrange, Mireille Mathieu, Herve Vilard, etc., and the similarly sounding style in italian, like Toto Cutugno, Iva Zanicchi, Don Backy, etc. Some EDM as well but less and less, since I only really like mostly Harmonic minor key songs, with some exceptions of course.

Problem is, I lost the novelty and I cannot find anything else that I like, so I just quit. Also, it just gives me depressing vibes listening to music, like it's from a time I thought I was alive (as if I ever was lmao).
