Discussion What would you write in your suicide note?

I've finally placed an order for SN with DMC/DSL and got confirmation that it's ready to be shipped. I'm wondering what I should write in a suicide note, if I even write one. What are some things you guys would write, and who would you write them to?

Mine would probably be a long ass google doc made up of ramblings from the 2 weeks or so before my planned date. Maybe a few separate notes to specific people too.

I don't know. I've lost count of the number of drafts. I'll edit one for a while, then file it away and start completely from scratch with a new one. Sometimes I write to a specific person, other times to a group of two or three. I may not end up sending one at all.

People that matter to me already know my years long battle with mental illness and all I have done to try to help myself so for me my note would be short and sweet. "No one could have done anything to prevent this outcome. I am so sorry for the pain I have caused. Please forgive me and be grateful I am now at peace."

I would just try to explain how and why it came to this, and I would also try to take the blame off everyone. The idea behind leaving a note (at least to me) is to give understanding and closure during the aftermath. I would not wish for the people around me to feel the same sorrow I chose to run from; no good having someone spend the rest of their life blaming themself, or wondering what they could have done differently.

I would have specific notes for people who made me this way, I'd have some for some others who were close, and then I'd have a general final message to the world. I'm not ready to make notes yet but the general note would talk about my general philosophy and maybe delve a bit into what lead me to do it.

I would try to write about how I feel in a way that could potentially help my loved ones understand why I chose to end my life.

I most likely won't leave a note but if I did I'd say that there is nothing my family could have done to prevent this and not to blame my psychiatrist and psychotherapist as they did the best they could.
