Hypothetically, if someone on SaSu had N, what's the most you'd be willing to pay for it?

If there was zero risk and guaranteed quality maybe around 200 or a bit more.

But otherwise I probably wouldn't buy it from the internet at all, it's very pricy and almost surely a scam. Low purity would make it unreliable and messy way to die too.

Woah. I might be able to get it for about £100 a bottle, which looking at these posts seems hella cheap. Still expensive by my standards tho.
Sorry I asked for phenobarbital by mistake, pentobarbital (N) is actually more expensive. Like £250 to £350 a bottle.

I admit I probably wouldn't buy N (nembutal), when a cheaper option (nitrogen gas) can be setup, and probably has a longer shelf life (since I don't yet wish CTB, but don't mind keeping that option there if I ever have strong CTB wishes that can't be easily mitigated).

Come to think of it, a special pager allows for rapid*, irreversible action to finalise existence... excellent for protecting SaSu from any investigation (can't seize my devices if a few wireless pagers get their special command, can't interrogate me either) in the event something tries to compromise me.

* Can be mere seconds, just open mouth, insert pager, keeping smartphone near, and send the goodbye code. For example "GB1" (or similar secret code) will make the home pagers destroy the devices at home, and after 100ms destroy itself.

I imagine there would always be a risk because no source would be legal and regulated. I think even Kenneth Law sent the wrong stuff out once. I remember the very distressing goodbye thread where the person didn't die and everyone was trying to poke holes in their protocol. (Which I think they'd followed exactly.)

So- for a proven track record internet source- as in- multiple goodbye threads. Some confirmed- I'd probably risk one or two hundred pounds. If suddenly our governments allow it and I know 100% it will be the genuine article- I'd likely pay one or two thousand. Depends how confident I felt in it.

But ultimately, people who sell equipment knowingly for suicide I imagine operate a little like drug dealers. Perhaps they care so much to provide a pure substance- in order to gain a reputation and encourage more to buy. But, if it fails- they likely have less to worry about. There's not going to be consumer rights for a suicide aid! They know their customers don't want the attention of the police.

There again- I'm kind of amazed people think it's worth the risk doing. I think Kenneth Law maybe would have gotten away with SN because of its other legitimate uses- if he had been more discreet. But, N? It doesn't have so many other uses. Maybe pets but then- that's all regulated. So- a risky venture I would think for anyone.
