As a teenager who got physical punishment on a daily basis I coped by watching gore.

There were some suicides I watched.

One of the most graphical was Budd Dwyer. The US politician who shot himself in the head in front of TV cameras. I watched the video on Youtube as teenager. I think I watched it a couple of times. It is still quite vivid in my memory.

There were videos on Youtube where people jumped of the Golden Gate bridge. I can remember there was someone in full black. A very tall man. Who jumped with full body control. This astounded me.

I can remember a video of probably an Indian man. He was in a live call with most likely his ex girlfriend. I think it only shows the last part of the call. She beggs him not to do it. She begs him so much. But eventually he jumps out of the window and you hear the sound of car that gets damaged and rings an alarm. I don't know in which floor he was.

There was one Mexican cartell beheading that I watched. But it was too disturbing to watch. I skipped through it because I got really sick. The pictures were not the worst but the sound of it. This poor woman.

I think to stop watching gore was a very good decision. And I would recommend to all of you. Quitting to watch gore can really improve your mental health. I would probably have PTSD now if I continued watching such explicit gore. There were some videos that were even for me too disturbing to that time. I always wondered how it looks like if someone jumps in front of a train. But I never watched it (gladly.) I think this could have traumatized me.

I've seen my fair share of gore irl. It's good you stopped watching it. My suicide will be very violent and graphic and I have cameras in my house, so I might just end up becoming LiveLeaks' next big star.

I tend to avoid gore. I was going to say that I haven't seen any gory suicides but- come to think of it- I think I have seen the Budd Dwyer footage.

I believe the man you are talking about from 'The Bridge' was Gene Sprague. I've always hoped my attempt would be as confident as that. I also admired him because I believe he waited for his Mum to pass first. His Nan was lovely too. She didn't try to stop him- she knew how much he suffered. She only asked him to say goodbye before he went. I thought that incredibly brave.

Weirdly, the most graphic in my head is a suicide of which no footage is available- as far as I know but- similar to Budd Dwyer- Christine Chubbuck shot herself in the head live on air. Prior to it, saying the network was going to have "an exclusive coverage of an attempted suicide". There are documentary films about her life. That definitely stayed with me.

I remember a video about a father hanging himself in front of his young (4-9 years old) son. The child kept screaming "papa!" and tugging at him. Another one is Ronnie McNutt who shot himself with a shotgun during a livestream on Facebook.

Back when I was active on Discord, I wanted to be edgy, unique and cool so I looked at gore videos. There were many brutal videos, like a man killing dogs and drinking their blood, but I can't remember any memorable suicides besides these two.

I think gore has always made me uncomfortable. It is so uncinematic. One time I saw a person getting stabbed. At first I thought it was fake, but after a moment, it started becoming real to me. The sound of the knife was so easy and minor, I couldn't believe it.

I watched a video of a guy lighting himself on fire and after he did that he was enveloped in flames immediately and he was screaming for an entire minute before dying/losing consciousness. That was the most traumatizing suicide I ever watched. Poor guy ;-;

Pretty sure one of the other alters watched this liveleak video of a dude blowing his brains out when we were a kid. I don't remember much of it, it was super grainy and low quality.

Oh gosh I forgot about that guy. I watched that too. Sucks that they tried to just call him mentally ill instead of addressing the reasons he did it.

Ronnie McNutt and another video of a guy slashing his throat with a knife.

I usually watch gore if I'm in a particularly bad or angry mood. Sometimes I wonder if it's a form of self-harm.

I also saw the ronnie one. It was when I still thought death looks the same was what it looks like in movies. It just popped up on instagram and I was shocked to see that his head basically exploded. RIP ronnie

I also saw some guy twisting a screw into his penis

I agree. Gore never made me feel relief but I get how the shock factor and curiosity hooks people in

I did watch Budd Dwyer back in highschool. I didnt sleep for a while. Made my stomach churn.

So definitely one of the goriest I've seen.

Another was a guy went under a truck on purpose and well his body was all mangled..

I know I shouldn't watch any of that but I cant sometimes. Im happy is not daily routine.

Well, I'm biased but the one I will never forget is a partner of mine OD'ing. Against every wish in my body, I remember.

Otherwise, I saw a video of a couple jumping in front of a train. Aftermath was brutal, bodies sectioned in two each side of the rail. Awful way to go. Hope it was painless and instant for them.

An man fell from a building and died after impaling himself on a metal bollard. I don't know if it was suicide, but I can't get the image of the metal sticking out of his mouth out of my mind.

Let me guess, healthcare worker or first responder?

I stopped watching gore online immediately after I witnessed someone try to CTB using a violent method. I'm not sure if they survived ultimately, but if they did, they likely became permanently disabled because I'm more than 99% sure they had a a severe traumatic brain injury. After seeing that, it just felt wrong to go online and watch gore.

Budd Dwyer's suicide was the saddest one i've ever seen. He was a good person who was set up and forced into taking such a drastic step. He was forced into suicide, he didnt do it completely on his free will. A little know fact about him, before killing himself he cheated death twice. When his mother was giving birth things got complicated and it was a miracle he survived his birth, the other instance was when he was in a car crash, he survived a terible car crash alive and without serious injuries.

I saw someone do it. They had an open book pelvic fracture, spinal injury, and head injury. They were alive when they got to the hospital but I'm not sure about the outcome after that.

I remember watching this same video or something similar the scream was horrific he must of been in psychosis no one of sound mind would choose such a painful method I thought it would be a quicker death than it was and another where this guy was in a shopping mall and took a knife to his throat cutting it completely open there's just blood everywhere and he drops onto the ground. I've seen 2 videos where someone's shot themselves in the head and still survives you can just see a mashed up hole where their face once was and these suffering moaning noises you can just hear their pain. I've also watched videos of people jumping from buildings most aren't that gory you don't always see the body close up but in some videos I have and it's gory as hell yeah broken or dismembered limbs or their body cut in half if they land on a fence but not really scary to me because they're already dead it's the slow yet gory deaths that shake me the most I'm pretty desensitised to most stuff. Yeah beheadings are something you see a lot but it's over so quick yeah it scares me but not as much as other gore videos I watched that stuck with me. It's this video of a British man (I'm also British) he's surrounded by 3 dogs he was getting mauled to death they go for his neck and you just see so much blood and all the skin from his forearm is ripped clean off everyone just standing around watching him die and saying "they're killing him" it wasn't quick either everyone had every opportunity to stop it but just watched

I can remember a long drop off a bridge where the person executed perfectly. Head still attached. Instant death. I also remember the politician suicide. [ he pulled a revolver out of a manila envelope ] . The famous shotgun in response to a breakup. [ forget the guys name] . That's basically unforgettable. No others stand out. Though I do remember many more, as you likely do. I can remember some improvised methods of discharging rounds, as well as some improvised methods of execution that are definitely not recommended.

I might know of the cartel woman that I wouldn't even want to try to write that one out if it's the same one. The cartels can be very difficult.

The most memorable one of all time for me involved very young kids playing with a gun while using a computer also with the parents in the next room. The result is two deaths.

Can't say I've witnessed any in real life, and don't get me wrong. I personally am thankful that I didn't need to witness such a thing happening in front of me.

For real life I've only witnessed "real life gore" when people around me (or I) would have bloody injuries or severe sicknesses, but that's really it.

Online was different for me as my generation of people basically grew up with having the choice to opt into sites that host gore content just a search bar away.

I think the most graphic video I've seen wasn't even that "bloody and grotesque" as you'd expect but it was a live streamed ctb by a father that still had his little children around. I'm sure one can figure what ensued after in the video. That's still one video that I don't think I'll forget, I don't know why specifically that one, but yeah.

That one suicide video The one with the guy who shot himself on livestream and like his face got royally fucked just from one bullet and then the lingering sounds of the blood dripping onto the floor. I really should be going "oh my god that's so sick!?" but idk like I voluntarily make myself watch gore videos, and the more I watch, the more curious I feel to go digging around for other videos. It's a weird form of entertainment that I can't explain. I do have my limits though, like I avoid videos of rape like the plague, which is easy considering there's a rule against it on watchpeopledie.tv. Bit weird how that's the line I draw (that and really gross stuff) but it is what it is.

Hanging ones are kinda eerie cause the definitive "life ending" point can be hard to spot so you're just watching a body slowly go limp before somebody notices.

Why do you want yours to be violent?
I can understand the mentality. You only die once after all.

Although in my case it's cause I have a deep desire to stab myself; I suspect they might want to make a statement to the Earth.

Ronnie McNutt, Gleb Korablev, and Shauiby Aslam. Ronnie was by far the most graphic but all three of them were pretty graphic. All using shotguns or high powered rifles.
