A closed circuit rebreather (not to be confused with the debreather) is an apparatus that filters out CO2 so you can dive longer. There is no oxygen intake from the outside so you've got however you much have in the tank.

What would happen if one just got into such a rebreather and waited? Without going anywhere near a sea even, just in a house? Eventually the oxygen would run out and it would be like going to sleep right? Or would the rebreather know that it's outside of water and open itself?
