Say you in the middle of the act and your room mate comes in and decides to get help for you.

I don't have any family members, a few friends, and currently no debt and I kind of think that it is my right to end my own life as most of it is mine. How ever I feel that I would be trapped by strangers trying to "Help" me get back to a state they find comforting. I just want to go unnoticed, peacefully, and with little burden to others.

I live in the United States and my health insurance is bottom bag from my employer. Had to loose my therapist when my rent went up because of the 120 copay. So I don't want to go into debt and then kill myself. Also, I fear I would lose freedoms like privacy, self reliance, and my guns.

So what would likely happen?

If you get caught ans what happens highly depends on the person. Some will try to talk you out of it. Some will simply call the cops and they'll drive you to the emergency room. Now you can have many many outcomes. If you resist they'll strap you down. A chance of that happening without your resistance also exists.
If you are lucky they'll let you go out of the emergency room and you're free to go. If you aren't then you'll be put in a psych ward.
Psych wards can be open or closed. It depends on their capacity and how severe your case is.

In medicine they make a HUGE difference between active and passive suicidal feelings. Active is when you want to do it and have a plan. Passive is when you think about it and don't want to do it. Obviously if you are a danger to yourself and others you got no chances.
Of course it's obvious that if you get caught you have been actively trying. But if you got a silver tounge you could make them believe that you are only passive suicidal and regret everything.

Another scenario is that you get caught and accept the help. This is also a good opportunity to get care if you don't have any.
It all depends on what you want in the moment and how you act. Anything you choose is perfectly okay and even backing out is fine too. Don't be ashamed of anything
