Everyone is clowning the AI generated look of it, not that I've seen it firsthand in games but just wondering.

Disgusting. Capitalist pigs continue to attempt the destruction of every artistic endeavor humans have to express themselves. The only use they want left for us are slaves in factories. Generative A.I. needs to be fought at every turn to maintain the average human's place in the world, their intellect, their joy, and their freedom - before we are all replaced and stay stupid for the rest of our species's days. Thankfully, GenAI is comically unprofitable and these companies are going to explode sooner or later. Nobody likes this shit. Play weird, deeply disturbing indie games on itch.io that would be censored by puritan standards anywhere else. Support artists. Support humanity.

horrible, awful, even when there's been reports that the artists at the gamedev companies didn't even know about it, it's genuinely them just trying to continue a bubble so it doesn't pop and crash the economy, it's so disgusting...

I love that it is literally changing the look of games where artists and directors have worked hard to make the game look like they want.

PS Love that the demo took TWO 5090s to run. So, totally accessible to the average consumer.

I love paying triple the price for RAM and living right next to a data center that eats half my city's power!1!1!!1!

Honestly can't pop quick enough, the sooner the better.

Waiter! More AI slop in my GPU to make up for the regression in performance uplifts! (And take away the soul of them while at it -- while still requiring absurd specs so only 90 series can enjoy peak slop quality). On a side note, GamersNexus is peak.

This is so funny to me bc as far as I know the demo was running on two 5090s, no?

Like, it's not like it will offer any real kind of performance improvements if it needs that kind of hardware at the moment

The worst part was when I read that the artists that worked on the games used for the demo weren't informed about it, and only learned about it at the same time as everyone else.

Agreed.

Agreed.
"According to Digital Foundry, Nvidia actually needed two GeForce RTX 5090s to make its DLSS 5 tech demo work. One of the GPUs was used to play the game, while the other worked specifically to run the AI-powered upscaler. The analysts further explained that DLSS 5 only requires two RTX 5090s to work right now, as it's still far away from its fully optimised iteration. Nvidia is developing the technology to run on a single GPU, and is still working on reducing its VRAM footprint while improving performance before it starts shipping in fall 2026." And here I thought buying a 4080 would be futureproofing...

Must suck to be an artstyle oriented dev, or anyone not just pumping out UE5 slop and relying on this kind of AI nonsense to make your game run decent.
