As the post title asks, what are some unconventional methods of CTB that don't discussed very often?

I feel like electrocution is one, but am curious if there are cases I have not heard of that can be used for inspiration.

Thanks.

Any reason not to stick with the conventional, tried, true, proven, and reliable methods?

No access to a gun

No access to a gun or place to hang myself.

Electrocution is probably too survivable. When electric chairs were a common method of execution, prisoners would sometimes not die on the first turn, and they'd have to keep administering the shock multiple times... plus all the "toaster in a bath tub" fail stories out there.

Swimming out into the ocean with ankle weights and self-immolation are two unsurvivable methods that I never see discussed. I suppose both would involve extreme pain and panic for at least a minute or so which is maybe why people avoid them.

A few people have CTBd with self-made guillotines.
I might consider it if I had access to a garage or something, but I live in a tiny apartment with nowhere to build anything.

I think exsanguination isn't discussed so much, but mostly because it's hard to do correctly and the immense pain factor. Extremely easy when it comes to obtaining resources, but that's about it. Yeah, pulling a Virginia Woolf definitely doesn't discussed much, but I've seriously always suspected that's how I would go out(even though it didn't occur to me until I was older that I had to weigh myself down). Strangely enough, the three words connected to my cause of death according to the Death Date website are "Freeze. Water. Suicide." 😂

Disrupting your cardiac rhythm with blunt force. The official name is commotio cordis but it's mostly done by accident by people playing baseball. Victims get hit in the chest and just collapse. Not reliable

There was a really young guy in russia who killed himself by pushing his neck into a circular saw

Yeah understandable, I just mentioned the guy because that was a really fucking weird case. He even did a selfie where he's laughing with the saw in the background and then immediately after sending it killed himself. Not recommended lol

Edit: Found the selfie picture. Apparently he killed his teacher and immediately after took this selfie and killed himself. Insane

Wonder if it'd be easier with painkillers, blood thinners, anticoagulants, slashing at the right artery(ies) and maybe something to become unconscious. Or it could be overkill

I still don't know how his body didn't force him to pull the saw away. He must have been completely delusional.

I've stabbed myself before but I was going without sleep.for like 2 days and was pretty deranged. A circular saw tho?

No thanks on the imagery but the way.

Funnily enough according to some statistics I've seen drowning is one of the most effective methods in terms of attempt-success ratio, not even necessarily in the ocean. it's actually more reliable than hanging iirc and second only to firearms but I'd have to find the graph to be sure
