Recently I have really been having the urge to stab myself but not as a method to ctb. I used to cut myself around my ankles and outer thighs, but I don't want to stab myself in the same places because it's a bit awkward around the feet and I'm scared of hitting a major vessel or artery on my thigh.

I sterilised a small pocket knife (stainless steel) and I want to stab myself on the side of my torso between my hips and ribcage, will this be life threatening or lead to any difficulties moving like later on? Is this a dangerous place to do it, like are there any blood vessels I should be aware of? How risky would this be?

The torso is what you aim for if you want to kill someone. It's an area full of crucial organs and vessels.
Sounds like your plan risks serious liver or intestinal injury. Even when not immediately lethal, you risk things leaking out causing complications; sepsis among other things.

So to answer your question: Yes that area is full of things you ought to be aware of, and yes; it's dangerous (in a slow and painful way).

no place are safe to stab.... to do this you need good understanding about autonomy and even than it will be risky.
