can drinking too much water in a short period lead to death. How much water is needed for this to work, and are there any previous threads on this topic

I believe that it could work, but that might be painful af. I think that above 3 or 4 liters is enough to get you water intoxication? You could make more research on it through the search function?

Just over 1 liter in less than an hour can begin to put stress on the kidneys, which may not be able to expel water fast enough. In theory it could work, but in reality, NOT A CHANCE!!
Ive seen water intoxication & it's no picnic. High chance of really screwing your body up. Your body loses electrolytes causing all sorts of misery & pain and takes a long time if successful at all.
The idea is that electrolyte loss causes heart issues & failure.
Honestly you have a better chance of standing outside on a sunny day & waiting to get hit by lightning. Please don't hurt yourself like that!

I tried it in the psych ward. Not one member of staff cottoned on. I was constantly downing water (by the litre) slurring my words, blurred vision, dizzy spells, felt VERY poorly etc etc. All the symptoms.
It came out in the end and I tried so hard not to pee and in the end I struggled to pee because of so much water in my system. I was very nauseated as well. It all came out, eventually.
I must've drank about 6 litres within the hour or so. And kept drinking
