One day I am feeling very motivated, active on multiple projects and working hard to excel at what I do.

The next day (or later the same day) I would be feeling severely depressed and wanting to end it all, with no apparent trigger. And I'll have no energy to even get up.

I don't yet understand WHY this happens so much. It's going to take a lot of self-reflection to understand. Psychiatry has left me more confused than before.

I wonder if anyone else experiences something similar?

I never feel motivated with anything. Or nothing will motivate me , I started this new medication after taking most of medications available in the market and also this one isn't working either. In my case there is no healing only one thing left to do...

I can relate. Whenever I get the motivation to do something, it all changes the next day.
The constant mood swings are tiring me out to be honest.

All the time yes. I like to take the good times to get ahead with recovery so that the bad times go away sooner (hopefully I'm still messing with medications)

I experience this but I have BPD and Bipolar so it goes with the territory of those. Medications such as mood stabilisers can help with these kind of swings but it depends if you wanna get caught up in medication. It sucks though, especially without warning.

I also have BPD and bipolar and it sucks having these mood changes. Right now, I'm feeling hopeless and like shit. I should be doing a scholarship for college that's due I think tomorrow, but I can't get off my ass to do it :(

I experience this as well. For me, it's not bipolar or BPD, but "atypical depression" which can cause temporary boosts in mood in response to positive stimuli. In addition to that, I experienced a lot of trauma in my early childhood that left me with a fragmented personality that's split into "parts". Structural dissociation. The apparently normal part of my personality can feel motivated or uplifted about life, and then later on something will trigger the trauma parts of me and I'll suddenly feel extremely depressed and hopeless and suicidal. I almost never know what the exact triggers are, sadly. I can be feeling upbeat at one point in the day, and then suddenly plunge into depression later on because painful past feelings/parts get triggered into my consciousness.

Perhaps you have some unresolved or unprocessed pain from the past that gets triggered below your conscious awareness and causes these mood swings? Atypical depression could be a cause as well. It's called "atypical" depression, but it's actually the most common subtype of depression.

I'm sorry you're dealing with these mood swings- they're so exhausting
