I didn't know Cuba, Columbia and Ecuador had already done so as mentioned in the article. I favor decriminiazation (as they've done) over overt legalization as I think legalization opens doors to abuse of power. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure how or why you interpret it that way. I said I support decriminiazation. That means no legal actions against facilitators and vendors for safe, standardized and painless medicines.

I don't support overt legalization in the current world economic and political climate as it makes it easy for governments and corporations to exploit the public. In a more enlightened society, sure but right now I think letting decriminiazation "soak" allows time for the public to adjust and the stigma to be reduced in a steady manner.

Does this mean I could go to one of those countries, ask them to end things for me, and they would do it, no questions asked?

No, "Under the new law, mentally competent adults suffering from terminal or incurable illnesses can request euthanasia"

im depressed and competent. is medical documentation needed to prove my competency? Uruguay sounds like a cheaper place to ctb at than Switzerland.
