Hi all, I tried breathing in Nitrogen again and this time I was getting close to passing out. I felt weightless, so focused like everything else around me wasn't there, ears ringing etc. Then I took the mask off and the symptoms rapidly disappeared. Not very pleasant. It's either this or burning charcoal. However I'm setting up Nitrogen with this mask using a silicone hose that will be cable tied on the port to make a seal. I don't mind if the gas leaks out from the silicone lip skirt since I will have it at 20l flow rate. I will still be breathing it in. I've tested it and it seals perfectly. The front area I have sealed and will have a few holes on the side of the hose front port connecting the mask from the nitrogen tank. The holes are for the exhaust. Will this work please? I don't want to use any other mask. It's claustrophobic. I attached a photo of it. I'm still setting it up.

There are opinions that mask might slip or not seal properly due to facial muscles relaxing as your body stops working but given the overflow of nitrogen and that it won't fall off completely, this should work. Or, at least i hope so because i've prepared similar solution:

That sounds worth trying. Do you have a link/name for the mask?

The mask will be on tight with two stretchy straps. It seals very well even when moving my face muscles. This is the least claustrophobic option.

Here is the link. Make sure you order the silicone non magnetic mask. You need to remove the front 90 degree port and connect a hose directly on the opening and put a few holes in the side of the hose acting as an exhaust valve. Make sure the flow rate is high. https://www.cpaponline.com.au/produ...ogjZy2nM0JNzD4_v4IGRlmiBYFNNMLpznKWehdv4GzN87

So, I am going to try it again very soon too. I really hope that my SI/claustrophobia won't kick in with the mask. I tried the mask and it is air sealed, the only point where gas/air can escape is at the adapter to the tube and I think it is necessary because otherwise one won't be able to exhale…

What I am using:
The nitrogen (amazon eu)
The clear tube (amazon eu)
The mask (ResMed shop de)
The mask tube (amazon eu)
I would remove the adapter and try to connect it without it DIY. Then put a few holes on the side of the hose and cover them with something so when exhaling, the gas gets pushed out the side where the flap is which will rise when gas is being forced out. This will act like a scuba regulator silicone flap. Reason I've taught you this is because if you're going to go through with it, it will fail if lots of oxygen is getting through the adapter and I don't want you to end up with Brian damage. I wish you well and hope you reconsider your decision. I wasn't really thinking you would be that serious to buy the mask. I don't really want to be responsible for someone killing themself. I wish you all the love and the best.

It says the nitrogen is from Amazon. Amazon doesn't sell nitrogen in the quantity that would be necessary. Unless you ordered an empty tank from Amazon and had it filled? What am I missing here?

I see a tiny little bottle in that pic. Is that the nitrogen??? I hope not.

Okay, than I'm going to do that. Don't want it to fail…

It is from Amazon marketplace. It's a 8L, 200 bar bottle. As I calculated, this should be enough, no?

8L meaning 8 liters? That's not enough nitrogen for even half a minute of flow. What are these calculations you're referring to?

8 liters with 200 bar are 1600L under normal pressure, so it should be enough…
