I am wondering if that is a possibility? If you can just completely trash your body in the hopes that it someday will be unable to function and you'll die. I think that it sounds very painful and slow but I am wondering if it is a possibility.

I mean, anything is technically possible.

Look up VSED (Voluntarily Stop Eating and Drinking) in the PPH and other sites. May give you an idea. Not fun.

Yeah I don't mean VSED, I know that's near impossible. I'm talking about eating lots of junk food, smoking, drinking. Basically doing everything that will deterioate your body. But I am assuming that would be painful because it leads to liver failure and cancer and heart burn. It was more of an inquiry than an actual suggestion.

I'm trying to imply that what you're asking will be similar to VSED, albeit on a longer timescale. Slowly having your body fail. It's not going to be fun.

The average American and European is doing this, though

I wouldn't bet on this bc we can endure so much more suffering and pain we cannot even imagine.

It will just make the already terrible lives worse but won't necessarily lead to "success".

You will destroy every aspect of your health. Your liver will be one of the first things to go if you abuse alcohol and drugs.Shit will flow out of you like carrot juice. It's a very horrific and undignified way to go. I believe all human beings deserve dignity and respect, and this is actually one of the reasons to take the bus. If our health suffers and we become infirm or senile due to old age, it's better taking the bus before you're staggering around not knowing what day it is.

That being said, if you intentionally choose to destroy your health.then well...No one can help you, nor can you even help yourself when the day comes that you're helpless and wheelchair or bed bound. Be really careful with this line of thinking.

I have multiple times advocated for doing the bare minimum to take care of your health at least. Maybe when the day comes that you decide to take the bus, you want to travel to another country or partner up with someone in another place far away. You need to be healthy to do any of these things. Maybe you want to jump off the Grand Canyon. Again. Be healthy. It's a requirement even to be able to CTB.

Oh, I do...of the PTO variety and the FMLA variety. I'm low income and need the money, but what's the point of having that money if I can't enjoy it?

It will make certain diseases more likely- sure but, they can take time to kill. As an example, years ago, I thought I was having a heart attack. Excruciating pain in the chest. But, I felt ready to die so, didn't phone for an ambulance. It eventually passed but I got further attacks. Turned out it was gallstones. Eventually, the pain wouldn't go for 2-3 days and I couldn't stand it anymore. A stone had moved into the bile duct. Gone untreated, maybe that would have killed me in the end but, the not knowing if, when or how much pain you'll have to endure makes it a difficult 'method' to do. I so desperately wanted to get out of pain, that I sought help. I suppose at that point, I could have asked them to treat the pain but, leave the problem but, I'm not sure they would have been willing to do that.

My diet has been pretty poor of late and I've shirked exercising so, I've put on weight and I'm so unfit. Consequently, work is so much harder so, I'm all the more miserable.

I think it will depend if you can get benefits too, or financially sustain yourself some other way or, be willing to go homeless to do this. Otherwise, it can make a fairly long, drawn out life all the harder to sustain.

I'm realising the opposite. That I'm going to have to make an effort to start taking better care of myself soon. Otherwise, I'm going to suffer a whole lot more before I die. I'm feeling characteristically resentful that, either way I'll suffer. I don't enjoy healthy things.

You can't imagine how resilient human bodies can be, because evolutionary it doesn't matter in what condition we survive as long as we survive
Also dying slowly sounds like dying from an old age, very disturbing, extremely stressful and involves a lot of unnecessary, prolonged suffering, when CTB can be done in under an hour with most methods. Even though most methods seem more brutal than going through it at a slow pace, I believe it's actually the other way around :c

drugs will do that especially stimulants like meth, they take so much from your body all the vitamins electrolytes and put a huge strain on your heart so after binging on them enough youd end up malnourished, your body eating itself and with heart problems. i don't think its a good method at all you'd feel even worse than you do now mentally because the state of your body affects your brain and it doesnt guarantee a quicker death, for example there's extreme anorexics that live for decades despite being all bones. and theres so many people that eat and live like shit and they only start getting problems because of it when they're old

It takes too long for any of this to happen, you might get diabetes from junk food consumption also which I can imagine is not fun. I currently smoke my Marlboro cigarettes and kush weed blunts, I suppose it would take a long time before any negitive health affects, even alcoholics go through hell and sometimes still survive. I once snorted pure fentanyl for 6 months and sober from that 2 and half years now. I heard about a lot of deaths during this time and the whole opiate addicted process is an awful way to live.

Kinda reminds me of the Meghan Trainor song.:)

I did it out of survival at first. I had just been discharged from the hospital and had destroyed my career I spent six years building. It was during COVID. I needed to stay afloat. Now I'm just used to it, but I'm looking for an alternative. I'm sick of this shit.

My father had a heart attack and died the same day. He was not obese, did not smoke, did not drink, was not diabetic or have any other known medical condition, and was just relatively sedentary in his retirement. I remember it well. I was 18 years old and that morning I first saw him after he got out of the shower breathing a little heavier. It didn't seem like anything too serious to me. He didn't show any signs of it. I just thought it was a little odd, but the day went by and I wasn't home when they found me and gave me the news. I later found out that the whole process took about 9 hours from the time I saw him that morning. But he didn't go to the hospital until the last hour of those 9, which leads me to believe that he didn't think it was serious. When he got to the hospital, according to reports, he didn't receive any treatment because there wasn't even time. He felt like vomiting and died. Compared to other natural death processes, it was quite peaceful. He was 58 years old.

My mother died when I was 13. Months after a kidney disease that been hidden. When it was discovered, she was only in and out of the hospital and after that I never saw her healthy again. Months of suffering in vain.

If the SI is too high, it may be possible to force a heart attack. Someone who is very sedentary can force the heart by running above its limit . The side effect of this attempt can be a stroke. And this can be very unpleasant. But it is worth studying the heart attack.

I witnessed a heart attack. An elderly man was standing next to me and seemed normal. Suddenly, he fell down. When I tried to help him, I noticed a few things: no screams or sounds. His eyes were open but not blinking, and his face was purple. I called emergency services because at the time I had no idea what to do properly, and they gave me guidance. But they arrived very quickly and took him away. I didn't have time to realize whether he was already dead or not. It seemed to me that he was in no pain because there was no sound coming from him. I later learned that he had indeed died.

Note : Cardiovascular diseases also cause twice as many deaths as all types of cancer combined and three times as many deaths as respiratory diseases.
