I read how a Royal Mail worker flew to Tokyo last year and hanged himself in a hotel room after walking out of work and telling his family "I do not want the life I have." I don't want to mention the man's name or provide any links out of respect for his family and friends, but I'm impressed by his unshakeable resolve. He wrote in an email: "I have been dealt one bad card after another, I do not want to keep playing."

Did he have a connection to Tokyo?

Did he have a connection to Tokyo?
It was a sentimental destination he had visited twice before. It's not unusual for people to take their lives in places they feel comfortable with. What pro-lifers don't count on at all is that it can be many miles away because of this idea they have that suicide is an impulsive act without forethought.

Yup. Pretty much sums it up.
The assistant coroner summed it up very succinctly: "It was a place that meant something to him and it was in Tokyo he decided to hang himself. He knew what he was doing, he knew what the outcome would be."
