Thoughts of cutting off limbs

Been having these constant thoughts of cutting off my fingers and legs. Don't know why but really want to do it. Doe it even matter if I lose a few limbs? Does anybody have these thoughts or am i going crazy?

Many years ago during my first significant go at leaving I had the same powerful thoughts. I believed my hands and feet had brought me to despair because they had all failed to bring me to the place that I was supposed to be.

I told my school counselor about this when I was in there for some reason... and a couple of class periods later I was summoned out of class to talk to someone. Not sure how I explained myself but they kinda left me alone.

I still have all my OEM parts decades later, for whatever that's worth.

Cutting limbs is not a preferred method, and would cause immense suffering. I think you may need to use antipsychotics if you have the urge to do so.

It must be horribly painful to lose a limb without anesthesia or something similar...

And if your wounds get infected you'll literally start rotting alive. There are people in this situation in my city and they literally look and smell like zombies.

Don't do it, it's not a good idea, except if you want to suffer without the guarantee that you'll die

It seems something terrible has happened to you in the past. Perhaps what you really want is not suffering itself, but masking that pain deep inside.

I can't really speak against self harm itself, because I do it myself and I understand the urge to do things to oneself, but cutting off limps is a bad idea. A really bad idea. Like people above said the risk of it going really wrong is high and it will put you in a physical state that is in my eyes not worth it.
And I would in general say you probaly need your fingers and legs.
I have no idea why you have the urge. I sometimes have the urge to just do fucked up shit to cope, but it is more of an: I want to escape reality. Yours seem to be different.
Professional help or meds are an option. Not the best but better then cutting off limps. because it is a really extreme thing that wont really make your life better or help with mental pain.
And it isn't reversible. You will have to live with it.

I've heard of people feeling like that. Some folks feel like that leg shouldn't be there, for example, and it really bothers them.

Theres a diagnosis for that if you arent already aware. You'll probably find the exact name by searching something along the lines of "whats it called when a patient believes parts of their body or even whole body isnt even their own"

People with it are known to attempt to take limbs off with extreme desire
