One of the things I love (and hate sometimes) the most about going to sleep is its one of the only periods of time when you truly get to sit and think to yourself. Everything you regret, feel on a day to day basis, and love comes flowing back. I find myself unable to sleep for hours most nights just purely because of the thoughts contemplating my life and its meaning rushing through my mind. It may be awful sometimes looking at all the things I missed out on or messed up, but its nice to have a period of pure reflection in one way or another. In fact its probably one of the only times that I ever feel truly happy or even like the Real me. It gets tiring putting on an act one way or another every day without fail. That blissful period before sleep is one of my only true comforts in this world.

That's intresting. I'm kind of the opposite in a way. I tend to be the most stressed at night about current life stuff- usually work stuff I have to deal with. Somehow, it feels all the worse- maybe because I can't practically do anything about it, I can only lie awake worrying about it.

When I'm less stressed though, it's actually my most popular time for maladaptive daydreaming. I'll imagine I'm in some other place and someone is hugging me. My pillow has to substitute. 😄 In that way though, it's a great escape for me too.
