I do not know whether this is obvious or not but thinking about suicide can make your depression way worse. I know people with (severe) depression/ circumstances who do not want to cbt. I really wonder why they do not want to cbt but at least they seem to manage the pain way better. Being in a suicide forum can make me depressed too. But i am scared about the future and i think someday i need an escape.

If someone focuses only on suicide, it may provide an amplification of depression as thoughts and actions to experiment with the management of depression may be neglected.

However, it is also possible that a person who focuses on suicide may find that their depressive feelings reduce as they consider themselves freed from that which has dragged them down. It can be useful for someone in this situation to consider that their sense of freedom or relief does not actually require suicide, just the release from the thoughts that have been bringing them down. It can be a breakthrough into seeing that depression can be managed.
