when you tell a "normal person" or happy person or whatever about your struggles...
a lot of them go: "everyone has troubles",
meanwhile their definition or level of TROUBLE is absolutely NOTHING compared to yours.

bc they simply can't fathom that something so bad, and so much bad, can happen to someone, but it did to you.

like they're thinking of "tribulations" as something completely else than you...

everybody loses family members, and that's extremely sad.
but you know what's even MORE sad? losing family members meanwhile everyday living life in a wheelchair with no legs.

to give an extreme example...

they haven't tried your level of unhappiness, so they just don't get it

You're right—it's incredibly hard when people try to compare pain without having any idea what yours is like. It's not just about suffering more, it's about feeling unseen and misunderstood. The truth is, people can only imagine what they've been close to. And when your life looks like something they can't even fathom, their reactions are often about protecting their worldview, not about understanding yours.

You shouldn't have to minimize your pain to fit someone else's version of "normal." What you've survived isn't ordinary, and it's okay to acknowledge that. Just because they can't relate doesn't mean your experience isn't real or valid.

You're right—they can't relate. And your experience is very real and definitely valid. No doubt about it.

Some people won't get it. But some will—or at the very least, they'll try to. And I hope you come across more of them.

It is pointless to explain because people cannot simply relate, we are all just a bunch of apes submerged in our own bubble of pain. Life is sometthing truly tragic and absurd.
