The good people of this world are usually at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to things like financial success and acheiving positions of power.
According to psychology studies people such as poloticians, lawyers , and bankers all score high on the pscycopathy scale.
They are no different than people like major drug dealers and human traffickers when it comes to getting what they want because they are utterly ruthless and have a complete lack of empathy when it comes to the feelings of others.
No wonder this world is so fucked - up.

Bankers are no different from human traffickers? I think you may want to rethink that take there, buddy.

A few things need to be cleared up. Firstly, psychopathic traits exist on a continuum across populations. They aren't discrete. This means that most of the general population with display some level of traits associated with psychopathy. With that in mind, most politicians, bankers, and lawyers are not psychopaths. Most do not meet that threshold. Psychopathy isn't that common, only affecting around one percent of the population. While some people, such as politicians, might be more likely to score higher in certain personality traits associated with psychopathy, such as domination and fearlessness, they usually tend to score around average on most other traits associated with this condition.

Secondly, people can still do horrible things without having psychopathy. Most people do horrible shit all the time despite not being "rah-roh ps-ps-psychopaths". I feel like psychopathy has just become a buzzword that people love to throw around. I really hate it. It's basically just a label that people put on anything and anyone that they don't like in order to avoid having to think more deeply about the shit that goes on around them.

I hate to break it to you, but no. We don't live in a world where the bad people are rewarded and the good people get punished. That is because good and bad people don't exist. How are you going to categorize someone as good or bad? People are complex and nuanced. Our ideas of good and bad are subjective and change as a result of things, from time periods, culture, personal experiences, and so on.

I remember in high school my English teacher was appointed as department head. All of the students congratulated him and said he deserved it, but he said he thought one of the other teachers was a much better scholar than him when it came to literature. Everyone asked our teacher why the other teacher didn't pursue it if he was so gifted, and he said that when you enter a position of power you move away from your actual job. You spend less time teaching or discussing literature and more time organizing the department. He said the other teacher didn't want that, and that he was passionate about teaching.

I've found this is in general to be mostly true. People who care greatly about things often stay out of positions of power so that they can focus on doing what they love.
