I'm assuming for the 168 members online / 9,720 guests a huge chunk of guests are just bots, besides lurkers that wanna stay anonymous. But it's kinda scaring me thinking about it, why would there be bots? are they collecting information on us studying us like zoo animals? what information would they even collect? I'm assuming methods, information about mental illnesses, etc, but I feel like there's more to it, and surely thousands of bots have to cost a lot of money. This sounds so stupid and childish, but I'm genuinely so fascinated but also terrified.

there is definitely decent amount of bots but i feel like for someone to be a member they will have to wait to get approved probably discourages some users from applying

I thought so too, I'm sure the approval process kinda wards off the bots but tbh it wasn't that hard for me personally to get approved. It only took a day for me.

EDIT: It probably wards off younger members too! I did not see that part, but yeah I bet there's some underage kids browsing on here with a guest account or some people who dont want anything linked back to them

Don't know why a bot would need an an account lol I will I hovered around in the void accountlless until I decided I'd sign up and my thoughts for once. I'm sure that's overall accounts here and you can't expect us to all be active active or remain active coming from someone who'd much rather avoid things 😭 some are here are and hiding and well and don't really need to say more :(

yeah same here it took me 1 day to get approved and i agree with it probably preventing bots to be members but i feel like a lot of people would just feel lazy and procastinate filling out details if it didnt give them an account as soon as they are done filling the details lol i mean i did procastinate a bit before finally deciding to make an account
tho i overall like the way it is set up and does reduces troll accounts too i guess

Usually 9 times out of ten, the guest list skyrockets when SaSu is mentioned on the news, or on some other web site. The other one, the count occasionally does rise, and as you stated, probably mostly bots.

And if they are observing us like we are zoo animals, the least they could do is feed us some cookies.

I like how it's set up aswell, I'd assume it kinda prevents trolls because I don't think it'd be fulfilling enough going through all the trouble creating an account then saying some stupid shit then getting banned, but then again there's some pretty annoying people out there so who knows idk. Also that's so real, I procrastinated a lot too and spent 1 hour alone writing my reason < / 3 and tbh I'm kinda procrastinating even writing this but It's getting better

Because the dead internet theory is not a theory. We are seeing more and more evidence that the now majority of interactions online are computers interacting with other computers.

As far as information, yes, there are bots, they are collecting information. AI models out there are scraping literally everything they can get their digital hands on. Everything you do online is stored in, at this point, dozens if not hundreds of databases, and is all part of massive data sets feeding into algorithms.

I'm not sure, I wrote my application in around 1 AM (Canada) and I don't know the timezone difference for whoevers in charge of accepting members, so maybe they were actively checking when you sent yours?

I wouldn't be surprised if they used my dead body to train ai at this point.

Very insightful. It could be a governmental intuition trying to gather evidence to incriminate the site and hasten its closure.

I wouldnt stress much about it. First of all, it really depends on how the website determines that a guest is online. Just because someone opened the website, they're online? What if someone clicked a link leading to the homepage, but closed it? If these cases are considered as online guests, then without a doubt we'd hit thousands of guests, since there is TONS of places on the internet that would automatically lead bots to this website. Upon each of those triggers, we would presumably see a new guest.

Generally the website is coded smarter than that, but it really depends. Either way- no one is studying you. The community has grown a ton, and there's lots of people who are interested but are too scared to open an account. Heck, I opened mine yesterday.

bots are crazy on the internet these days. Host something yourself, have a logger going and you'll notice how many hundreds of requests per day you can get from bots trying to hammer your server with various types of requests, and that is on a personal, private server not visible on the internet like Sanctioned Suicide is, lol.

Very unusual. Could it be the state of the world? That is, if we are not in current news, or if it's not a result of the recent youtuber, or not all bots?

Almost 16,000 right now. I haven't ever seen it that high. I assumed it was because of this turkey tom moron video someone else posted about recently. I'd never heard of him until that. It's happening since then seemingly

There must be another reason for this number. I cannot imagine it is only this reason.

There was a bump after the tantacrul video even with him not stating the web address but there may be no way to fully determine the reason. I tend to agree with you though. But Turkey tom has over 1.6 million subscribers and some of them are probably discussing with friends and posting online elsewhere about SS. And apparently there's this bot aspect which I don't understand. As recently said in another post it's not if but when tptb get it shut it down. Anyone that is a member ,unless just joining, should by now have their chosen method memorized and/or ready

9,720 guests is quite absurd. However, it makes no sense for there to be so many bots on such a forum. What would they actually gain that a single journalist or a much smaller amount of bots wouldn't anyway? While I understand some wouldn't make an account because they don't want anything tied to them, I also find it absurd for there to be such an insane gap in member-to-guest ratio. It's very fascinating I agree, but it also makes no sense whatsoever no matter what way you put it.
