Despite what Hollywood would have you believe, bleeding to death is not a very effective way to CTB. The only arteries large enough are surprisingly deep, coagulation minimizes blood loss, and the pain is usually enough to trigger a serious survival instinct response. It looks good in the movies, but it doesn't work well in real life.
