Something good happened today. My daughter did well in her exams. My son had some financial luck. They both struggle themselves mentally sometimes so seeing them both have a win in life and feel good about themselves for a change made me so happy for them. It made me wonder just for a while, what if things could be okay? What if everything doesn't have to end? I know this feeling will be short lived but it's been nice to have a day where not everything has been complete shit

It can be helpful to savor the present and keep it as a memory to give you a boost should you need one in the future.

Agreed. It's hard to really be in the present instead of being stuck inside your thoughts but I should probably try harder to do so and think more about these moments

Thats great to hear. As much as it seems this forum promotes suicide it merely promotes free speech and pro-choice. The recovery part of this forum is one of my favourite parts for this very reason.
