Probably been asked a lot but cba to look. Would SN that came in an airtight packet ever have an expiration date to the point it becomes completely ineffective?

If kept correctly it can last years. The worst thing that can happend is exposure to air or moisture, that will reduce the purity of SN. Constant exposure to light might also be a problem so if any light can get in container keep it in a place where light wont get to it.
