I'm planning to CTB soon, hopefully, and I've found an SN source over where I live where it's available in a solution form of 4.9 conc. I don't know much about chemistry, and it's a litre in total.

I'm mainly concerned on whether I should buy a single bottle, or two bottles(as the recommend dose from the PPH is about 15g) since I don't know if the SN is 5g/ml and since I've no previous experience with buying these materials. GCE grade, I believe, so possibly high purity, and the bottle is 20$.

I'm getting Dramamine, and not sure if there's an alternative to Tagamet as an acid blocker. Should I go for it? Thank you if you could help ^^

Update: Seems like a single bottle has about 50g dissolved. I'm still not sure whether I should be getting it.

I'm not exactly sure about it's purity, but I'm assuming it's lab grade/GCE over here so, probably >=98%. I'll see the labels if I'm able to physically purchase it myself.

Didn't know antacids were optional though, they increase the chances of success don't they?

may speed things up a little... also idk if it is 50/50 SN water mix... or 10/90... or any other ratio

I would be suspicious of any salt pre-dissolved in water. Sodium nitrite is usually sold as a dry powder. I have never seen it offered as a liquid solution.

(as the recommend dose from the PPH is about 15g)
The recommended dose of sodium nitrite in the PPH is 25 grams. Are you sure you are familiar with this method and not confusing sodium nitrate with something else?

I also find it odd how the SN bible chart and PPH usually recommend different amounts.

Didn't know it was twenty five, an old thread seemed to have recommended 15 and based it on a previous edition

I think liquid solutions might primarily be for students. Thank you for the info! Might need to do more research

Might be that one of them is a bit more outdated than the other

or uses different logic... eg weight calculation vs generalised. People have passed away from less than 10 grams of SN, the extra that is recommended may merely speed up passing away.
